Well guys and girls,

I have been bitten hard by the mod bug this summer, and well i thought why beat around the bush. I have been reading a ton about Boosting the 8 and im strongly considering Turboing the car.

Now I may just buy the Greddy Turbo and ditch the E-manage ultimate for the int-x. However whats your thoughts on boosted cars. Fuel economy is already out the window with the 8, it cant get any worse in my eyes.

I met a cool Japanese guy with a VR 8 at JRP yesterday, who just got his Turbo installed. It pulled real hard and he didnt have any issues with the stock tune on the out the box greddy e-management.

What you think fellas? should I bite the bullet?

My concern is reliability. I'm not saying turbos are unreliable. I'm saying the more stuff you add to your car, the more stuff there is to break. I turbo'd my miata and found that it I was constantly tinkering. Exhaust leak here, oil leak there. It just lost the care-free ease of use it once had.

Besides that, you'll no doubt enjoy it. It's just a matter of keeping up with maintenance.

I agree with qtwre.
Once modded (especially if the car never came with turbos) you're going to lose your care-free reliability.

This is why my Miata is staying stock! Other than the Mazdaspeed exhaust that is. ;)

Go for it! A turbo kit will transform the feel of your car 100%.

I would highly suggest you get the MazdaManiac upgraded GReddy turbo kit. That way you know there are zero issues to deal with in the future.

I would also choose the Cobb AccessPort over the Interceptor-X.
