i was pondering the idea if it was possible to some how to install angel eyes around our projector front, If you look closely there is a cap around the the projector. Perhaps it is posible to install angel eyes and wire them to the parking lights. Anyone else think of this. Or even if its possible?

These are sold specifically for the RX-8 headlights. Unfortunately I can't find an American Supplier. Might be the best bet if you are willing to spend the money.

oh man, this isn't going to go well. Crunk, listen to Chris; be VERY careful with those headlights. You're talking about putting over $1,000 worth of headlamps in the OVEN.

I baked my alero headlights, used the lowest setting and checked them every 5 minutes. They will hold up better than you think, and just used a good quality silicone to seal them back up. Make sure you seal them well or you WILL get condesation in your headlights!

I actually succeeded on taking the whole housing apart with a heater gun for about 20 minutes... and the headlights were from my 8 when it was in a hit and run accident =/... came in handy thats for sure lol...

Yea just bake the headlight around 150c in your oven make sure your oven door is open. And check it quite often. I was going to make my headlight angel eye but I decided not do it because of my country road rule.
i don;t know if this helps but here is some picture of the Dissembled headlights http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t290/yushinrt/?start=40

That is a lot of trouble and risk for something that does absolutely nothing.

I baked open my headlights on my RSX to paint the reflectors. I used the lowest setting on the oven, then the heat gun for any of the tabs that were still stiff. I can't comment on the longevity of the mod since the headlights and the rest of the car were scrapped after meeting a telephone pole at 60mph ;)

Also a friend of mine had angel eyes professionally installed on his R1 and they had to re-install them 3 times because the rings kept breaking. Both physically and electrically. They couldn't take the vibrations. He finally had them take them out.

I love the look and hope they work for you. As for the difficulty, just take you time and be careful. http://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Just be careful for all DIY guys!! You guys can elso go to www.automotivelightstore.com, they offer the halo rings for the RX8 for 150.00, also on ebay[http://stores.ebay.com/Advanced-Automotive-Concepts] selling so far for $100 for 4 halos, two small rings and two small ones! They can also install them for $150! They also have a video on youtube.com on how to install them yourself! Your welcome guys!

It doesn't specify if it's the bulbs only or the whole housing....

If they're made specifically for the RX-8 and it's the housing, then the price is a steal..

123617I don't see anything rx-8 on that site, and ebay link doesn't work.

Ok heres the link for the halos, they are brand new to the website and i spoke to a representative and said the have the halos for the RX8 up on the website and you its true, heres the link http://www.automotivelightstore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=239 They go for 199.00! The ebay link prob didnt work because the action had ended! I say these are the best Halos for the RX8 on the market since they use ballast same as the HID cars!

ORACLE HALO Kits Include the Following:

* (2) RX8 Large CCFL Halo Rings
* (2) RX8 Small CCFL Halo Rings
* (2) V2 Hi-Power Demon Eye Ballasts
* Mazda RX8 Specific Wiring
* Installation Written Instructions
* Video Installation Instructions
* BONUS: Instructions to Custom Paint your Headlights.
* Everything you need to add Demon Eyes to your Headlights

if u want to open the headlights then jus put them in the oven for 3mins. at 250degrees then cut the seals with a knife or pry it open with a flat head screwdriver

hmm not sure about this..they must be the blue rings, because I just got my 8000k kit which should match my 8000k HID bulbs perfect. I was told I got the first set of these, which is why got a discount and need to send them some pics for their site. Ill have them in as soon as I get the car back from the dealer. The kit looks great though, I lit the rings up and theyre bright as hell

Ok three things

1) lol why is one of your tags labeled porn???

2) eww why?

3)if your going through the trouble or removing the lens why dont you mod your projectors while you are at it?. i gurantee you will enjoy it alot more

drop in some sc430 projectors with some e30 lenses and you get this:

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/mushkid/sc3-1-1.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/mushkid/sc3-3-1.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/mushkid/sc3-2-1.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/mushkid/sc3-4-1.jpg

or just take rotaryrasp's idea and do this:
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41499&highlight=rx8

or this one which is much easier and requires no mods:
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30639&highlight=rx8

not trying to thread jack but im just trying suggest other things you can do to your car that are more useful!

Go with Butyl Rubber Sealant, not silicon. This is what retrofitters tend to prefer - it's basicly what is already used in the first place... which is a good thing.
Liquid: http://www.amazon.com/CRL-White-Butyl-Rubber-Sealant/dp/B000WU25E2/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1296078871&sr=8-16
Tape: http://www.amazon.com/30-Black-Butyl-Tape/dp/B003U7QV44/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1296078949&sr=1-4

Both will work. Some people say Tape is easier to remove. I don't know, I prefer the liquid myself.

FYI: "When fully cured it forms an elastic, all-weather resistant seal which bonds to many surfaces. Application temperature range is 40 to 120°F (4 to 49°C). It also withstands temperature changes from -20 to 200°F (-29 to 93°C)."
