I am in the market for a black RX-8.

I'm seriously considering purchasing a black one with the black & red interior.

The problem is, while the deal on the car seems great, I do not want the red interior.

Does anyone know if it's an easy swap to swap out the front and rear seats with Black seats along with the door panels? Is there anything else besides the seats and door panels that would need to be changed out?

Any ideas on what it would cost me to find the seats and panels to swap?

You'd want to swap all the seats, the door panels, the steering wheel. Maybe the parking lever.

if i had a black rx8 i dont think i'd want the black/red interior. maybe white/black, that'd look pretty pimp.

VR with red/black interior looks nice though.

I'm in the NY metro area. If anyone would potentially be interested in a swap, I'd be willing to travel a couple hundred miles.

I'm trying to get confidence that it'll be a relatively painless task to change out the interior before I actually purchase the car.

GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!! I would so do that swap!!! Ive been looking into doing the same except make my ALL BLACK interior into the black/red. That would have been PERFECT!! Move to cali!! :lol:

unfortunately it looks like the great deal I thought I was gonna get through AutoTrader is a scam. It's back to shopping for me. It's good to know that if I come across one with the black and red interior (that isn't a scam) that I may have some options.

swapping it isnt hard, i had my interior done in white and black alcantera including the head liner and it took the shop half hr to strp the car.

yeah, it isnt hard at all.

it would only cost you about 800-1000 bucks to get a custom interior to replace all the red with whatever color you'd like

and yet, swapping it with another person that has a full black interior is completely free!

I like my black/red interior but it'd be even better if it was a deeper shade of red.
