View Full Version : Toyota Yaris 3dr Hatchback vs Suzuki SX4 Touring
nycgps 04-10-2008, 11:42 PM B4 u all jump me for why buying a Toyota, well, its not my car, my gf wants one. she is paying for it, cuz she wants something that looks *cute* and gets good MPG.
its cheaper for me to get insurance, so its going to be under my name.
We're still thinking on which one to get. Both have Pros and Cons
Yaris will be cheaper, looks better, gets better mpg, and probably more durable than the SX4, Toyota brand
SX4 will have AWD, better power, have a rack on top, Stability control. 4 doors. Longer powertrain warranty.
Kinda hard to decide ... what do you guys think ?
RXei8ht 04-10-2008, 11:59 PM Go with the Yaris, not too sure how suzuki's reliability is, plus my sister has one.
nycgps 04-11-2008, 12:15 AM Yaris 1
SX4 0
Anyone else ?
gundarx 04-11-2008, 12:47 AM You already know what I'm gonna say :lol2:
Honda Fit!

Again! :)

Also, if you look at the JDPower survey (Europe) for the past few years (I haven't seen the latest ones but 2006 and maybe 3 years straight, the Fit was always top 2, 3, or 4).. The Echo / Yaris soooo far behind :).. Suzuki's way down the list
Heck, it's the first car in Japan ever to knock the Corolla off its #1 best-selling car seat.
Just like for our 8s, I'd recommend it for the rotary fans and passionate car people (where MPG takes the back seat).
But as a former Fit owner (and most probably a future one too), I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE

my friend has a sx4. Very nice car. And you can work on it if you'd like. would be my second car for sure. check this out

Aero8 04-11-2008, 07:47 AM My sister has a yaris 3dr hatch, manual, no problems so far. It's fine to drive around, and has enough pep to get through traffic. Plus it has around 20 cup holders! how could you go wrong!?
crimson-rain 04-11-2008, 08:58 AM I just got back from Thailand (just got happily married!!!) and saw a TON of Fits (Jazz over there) and Yaris ... es. The Fit is nice and has more room than the 3 door hatch Yaris by far. But that's just the catch. The Yaris over there and in Japan are offered as a 5 door hatch and have greatly more room than the US 3 door. It's still slightly less room than the Fit (one of my new relatives owns one, a Jazz that is, and had the pleasure of riding in it; lots of room; it's kinda of like a mini-minivan), but not by much. Both are customize friendly and tunable, the Yaris being the better as far as looks (I saw some NICELY kitted Yaris ... es over there). As far as engine tuning, I think the Yaris would win IF you swapped in it's real engine from Japan which is turbo (think Vitz). As far as the Fit goes, it's nice and it's a Honda for crying out loud. There are always parts for Hondas.
The SX4 is a car I've been looking at also. All wheel drive, room, etc., for the price sounds good. It may be low on a lot of lists because a lot of people don't really know about the Suzuki brand beyond road/sports bikes and the Tracker back in the day.
My vote is the Yaris if they could get you a 5 dr version, which I doubt. Other than that the SX4 is all round better because for the price, you get way more. You'll see when you have to add all those options to the Yaris.

Meh, I tried the Honda FIT for an hour something. Friend's car. Its not a bad choice IMO. but since they're selling like Hot cakes, Dealerships in NYC who has them act like a dick if u ask them to get a better price, plus there is no special in Financing nor any rebates.
Most important is ... they're not as *cute* as the other 2 ... U know girls ... "cute" is their top priority :suspect:
Mazda 2 :)
Dude, U think I never thought about it ? Gotta ask Mazda why arent they bring it to the States. Oh I should ask Ford instead, cuz they afraid that its going to kill their butt ugly garbage Focus.
I saw tons of them when I was in Hong Kong, and they moddddddddded it like nuts, its soooo freaking nice.
OH well, We're in the Stats, Welcome to the real world.

I spoke with about 6 dealerships, Im not sure if its Suzuki's lack of sales training or SX4 is their best selling cars. 5 of the dealerships acting like a dick (just like Hondas) 1 of them is nice, but its 100 miles away. I still have his contact, I told him I will think about it first.
My sister has a yaris 3dr hatch, manual, no problems so far. It's fine to drive around, and has enough pep to get through traffic. Plus it has around 20 cup holders! how could you go wrong!?
yeah when I was looking at the car I was like "wtf so many compartments????"

There is no 5 door Yaris in the states, cuz Toyota afraid that it will kill the sales of its Matrix (which is ugly, IMO)
There is a Turbo Vitz u can buy directly from the company in Japan, for I think 3 Million something yen, its boosted to like 150ps or something, Full body kit and stuff. freaking nice, oh well we will not get it here.
If I do get a Yaris , Im thinking I might put Blitz Compressor into it.
Right now, its all "thinking"
ODDDOOD 04-11-2008, 09:53 AM Dude...I think I read somewhere that the Yaris is super bad in accidents. Don't know if the extra "cute" and mpg factors in when you can't enjoy them after an accident.
Suzuki...meh...let them do trucks and motorcycles. I don't trust their cars...imo.
Don't know if you're into them, but I saw the new Scion xD...not really my cup of tea, but for a girl that wants a cute car...worth a shot. I believe Car and Driver kinda liked this car...dunno... its a yota...decent...customizable...tunable...:suspect:
Why not the MS3? a little bit more...sure...but decent highway mileage. Nevermind the premium gas requirement.
Honda Fit might be your best option. I always see one in downtown who apparently thinks he is an indy racer. The car is zippy...not fast...but I'm sure you are aware of the performance if you've driven one.
Anyway...good luck.

I heard about it.
The Region Manager for Toyota in the Greater New York area is really a retard, they dont have 3dr Yaris with Side Curtain airbag and ABS and EBD ... they think ppl in NY does not care about safety or something ?
Thats why I have to go like 2-3 states away just to be able to get a Yaris with that Option ...
First she wanted xD, but after sitting inside at the dealership she hated it.
SX4 ... I kinda have the same thought as you. thats why Im comparing between the 2.
I cant get MS3, she dont want to pay 23K for a new car
Honda Fit is out, cuz dealerships are dicks, and no specials.
ODDDOOD 04-11-2008, 10:13 AM Mini Cooper FTW!
I even like that car...not for me, but would love to get one for my gf. Fun, handles well, good gas mileage, and ranks high on the "cute" factor with girls. Maybe a used S model or new base model. You will likely get very good customer service with BMW as well.
Maybe even a rebel flag on the top...oh wait, you're not in NC...
nycgps 04-11-2008, 10:22 AM :(
Like I said, she is not willing to pay so much, Yes she likes Mini Cooper ... but money comes first :(
Even a used one is too much for her, she would rather get something brand new. :(
ODDDOOD 04-11-2008, 10:45 AM Last idea would be the Nissan Versa...kinda ugly, but very reasonably priced and comes with a 6sp MT.
122 hp
127 lb-ft
33 mpg
mid 13,xxx's
Thats all I got...good luck!
Between your two choices.... I'd put my vote for the Yaris... Toyota's are known to hold their value and have been reliable compared to the rest. I'm sure the Suzuki is great too (love them gixxers), but i dont know how well they'll hold their value.
DaveCM203 04-11-2008, 11:33 AM I have been selling Toyota and Suzuki for 3 years now. The Toyota will hold resale value a little bit better. But if you are going to keep it for a while it won't matter that much. The Suzuki has more room and is safer with the standard side-curtain airbags and the available stability control.
As far as reliability, I would have no concern for the Japanese built Suzuki's. They are very reliable. I would stay away from the Korean built ones (Reno, Forenza).
I own two Suzuki's. An '06 Luxury Grand Vitara I bought for my wife two years ago. She absolutely loves it and we get a lot of compliments on it. The other is my GSXR750.
For my money, I would buy the SX4 over the Yaris any day of the week. The SX4 just has more personality also.

Nah, Versa is too *ugly*. We cross that one out from our notes long time ago.

Suzuki is famous for their bikes. Yeah just not pretty sure about their cars. since their depreciation is pretty steep.

SX4 is japanese bulid. So does Yaris.
SX4 has personality I know ... thats why its a hard pick :(
Clavius 04-11-2008, 08:05 PM Suzuki is rumored to be pulling out of the Car Market so keep that in consideration. Forget where i heard it or i'd post it up.
I'd say the Yaris my mother once had a Corolla for about 10 years it only needed to be fixed when some one hit her (or her them lol).
tajabaho1 04-11-2008, 08:24 PM nyc, take it from me man, take the Yaris,
I like suzuki, but in reality, they suck as a whole for a motor company, and their service is worse than mazda. + their cars aren't that durable

I kinda saw the opposite.
I read that Suzuki is one of the *worst* auto company when it comes to depreciation, and they're working *hard* on it to improve its brand image. Thats why they released cars like SX4, and invest even more money into WRC (SX4 crossover based)
So I dont know.
nyc, take it from me man, take the Yaris,

I never had any experience with Suzuki, nor do I know anyone who has them.
Thats why its a pretty hard call ... I mean Suzuki has almost everything that I need ...but Yaris looks way better + cheaper + better brand image ...
dshiznit1489 04-12-2008, 09:15 AM OP fails.
fahrfegneugen 04-12-2008, 01:21 PM I know you said she would rather have a new car, but if she wants a little better car for the same price, a used Corolla or something wouldn't be such a bad idea.
I have heard bad things about the Suzuki's reliability.
CarAndDriver 04-12-2008, 11:13 PM Honda Fit over Yaris. Yaris is completely bland and boring, but 3dr gets good mpg and is small.

Girls like *cute* things ... over anything ...
Dunno about their reliability, but from what I've research, it seems *so so*.
They have 7 yrs 100K miles powertrain warranty. but I still kinda have question about it. look at Mazda, they can say *this and that are not covered* *customer abuse* to deny them.
Honda Fit over Yaris. Yaris is completely bland and boring, but 3dr gets good mpg and is small.
I considered about FIT, but like I said, cuz they're selling like hot cakes those Honda dealers all being a *dick* about it. Some even want *1K markup*. I was like wtf ? for an Econ box ? gtfooh !
mysql 04-13-2008, 09:43 AM if you're going this route, get the toyota camry. It's cheaper than the yaris if you're going for base models since the yaris has more standard features.
nycgps 04-13-2008, 09:50 AM if you're going this route, get the toyota camry. It's cheaper than the yaris if you're going for base models since the yaris has more standard features.
Thats what I've been thinking but .................................................. ..............
Girls want Cute cars !!
NO Camry ! :(
mysql 04-13-2008, 09:51 AM heh. When I see Yaris, I do not see cute. I see death trap.
I say force her to pick between cute and mpg. The 2009 Honda Accord Diesel will be out shortly. 60 mpg goodness.
DaveCM203 04-13-2008, 12:32 PM Suzuki is not going anywhere in the car business. They actually sell more cars in Japan than Toyota does. As far as reliable, the Japanese ones are. Suzuki also sells more cars world wide than Mazda does. The SX4 is based off the Swift which is hugely popular in Asia and Europe and has won a lot of awards. They have also been the fastest growing car company for years.
I sell just Toyota's now. They are good cars. There cars have been falling in quality and longevity. The 2009 Matrix and Corolla feel, sound, and drive cheap. They do have great resale though. If you are only planning on keeping the car for about 3 years or so, the Yaris is the way to go.
I just get a little irritated when people bash Suzuki and they are good cars. They are usually bashed by people who have never owned one and have no experience with them. (But, there were problems with the Reno and Forenzas that are Korean built and in conjunction with GM.) Toyota's are not all that. They all handle like shit. They are so boring. The quality on the cars have been going down hill. Especially on the 2009's and the v-6's and v-8's are not up to par with the 4 cyl.
CarAndDriver 04-13-2008, 01:04 PM I considered about FIT, but like I said, cuz they're selling like hot cakes those Honda dealers all being a *dick* about it. Some even want *1K markup*. I was like wtf ? for an Econ box ? gtfooh !
No doubt those Honda dealers are marking up those things. Do you like the Versa? The Yaris is fine. I wish they'd bring the 5DR hatch over. Our 4DR sedan is ugly and awkward. I saw the 5DRs in Canada.

Suzuki sells very well in other markets.
they do make impressive cars, look at the WRC Swift, Turbo the inline 4 and u get a 320ps. too bad u cant buy that lol
I think the reason why Toyota's quality gone down ately, because they've been focusing too much on their Lexus brand.
Now they feel the threat from other companies, and start focusing on its own brand again. 2009 looks pretty promising, but just not sure about its long term quality.
No doubt those Honda dealers are marking up those things. Do you like the Versa? The Yaris is fine. I wish they'd bring the 5DR hatch over. Our 4DR sedan is ugly and awkward. I saw the 5DRs in Canada.
yeah I dont understand what Toyota is thinking, if they bring the 5dr hatch into the US market, they will sell like hot cakes. The Yaris 4dr looks like the lame version of the Camry.
No Versa. Its too lame.
R1Cky 04-13-2008, 08:50 PM Go for the Mazda P5 i love mine

Im dealing with Dealership B, they have 2 Bayou Blue, not my 1st color of choice, so I told B that dealership A has the color and trim that I want. and asked them to swap it.
Last night I checked both dealership's online inventory, dealership A has 2 Blue hatchback in stock. B has 2 Bayou, all same car, trim, option, just different color. and it saids its *real time inventory*.
This morning, I emailed Dealership B and told them that I MUST see the car in your lot before I will come down south to sign the papers
I didnt get any replies today, but b4 I checked Dealership A's inventory again, one of the Blue hatchback is *gone*, and it has been replaced with another Bayou.
then I check the Dealership B's inventory, one of the Bayou is *gone*, but no Blue in.
So Im thinking did they really swap cars ? I will confirm it tomorrow (calling them)
I gave a few Suzuki dealers a call, only couple of MTs with my color of choice left. So they're being a dick about it. I was like, screw u guys.
911SC 04-13-2008, 10:10 PM We bought a 1989 Sidekick 4X4 new. Just replaced it last year with a RAV4. Never gave us a problem in the 17 years we owned it.
Yaris for all the reason you had and resale to top it off. The Suzuki will be worth nothing in a few years but someone will always come looking for a Toyota.

My friend's father, got a Sienna couple yrs ago, NEVER chANGED its oil for like 20-30 K miles ! well of course engine light is on and engine respond is sluggish. But hey at least it still works  he sold the car shortly after I told him the car's engine is gone.
Yaris for all the reason you had and resale to top it off. The Suzuki will be worth nothing in a few years but someone will always come looking for a Toyota.
Well we're not planning to sell the car, but that is a good point.
Suzuki is trying to improve its brand across the NA market. cuz their Korean made cars really screwed them up, big time. so the resale value might get better after a few yrs. who knows :) SX4 is build in Japan, so I trust its quality actually. (if I get it)

there was one of these driving around at the dragon while we were at DGRR. that thing was fast as hell. we could barely keep up with it.
nycgps 04-14-2008, 10:20 AM My will to buy a Yaris vs SX4 :
80% / 20%
Hmm. I just gave another call to suzuki dealer thats like 300 miles away, same thing, wants to rip me off.
and I gave a call to the Toyota dealer down south, he said he will speak with his manager first then call back, cuz they want to be sure that I will go and get the car, not just *bsing*.
nuke0907 04-14-2008, 02:05 PM there was one of these driving around at the dragon while we were at DGRR. that thing was fast as hell. we could barely keep up with it.
i say go for the Yaris. here's proof of the Vitz (http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/OrderPage.aspx?pi=0HH600LU000062&po=62)we seen at DGRR.
CarAndDriver 04-14-2008, 04:31 PM Color?
911SC 04-14-2008, 04:32 PM What I ment to say is that the Suzuki didn't give any trouble in the 17 years we owned it. We bought the Rav 'cause a friend of ours drove hers for 316K miles!!! No major repairs. I would trust a REAL Suzuki, not a rebaged by GM Korean thing.

yeah well ... if their dealership are not being a dick then ...
CarAndDriver 04-14-2008, 10:15 PM Target price?
playdoh43 04-14-2008, 10:36 PM id definetly go used car, you can get a very nice slightly used car in that price range.
nycgps 04-14-2008, 10:51 PM Target price?
I sealed a deal.
New LB, blue, with power and cold weather pkg, keyless entry, ABS, F&R side airbags. the des charge is a rip off from Toyota. comes out to around 13.5K. (I do the Tax and title @ DMV myself when Im back to NYC)
So with tax and stuff its about 15K. Not bad IMO.

playdoh43 04-15-2008, 09:39 AM congrats on the new car
nycgps 04-15-2008, 01:31 PM The next hard part would be ...
taking a 5 hours bus down south, then find the Subway station, get off then I have to walk 3 miles to the dealership, sign the papers, cry cuz the money flies away, happy cuz have a new ride, then have to drive 5 hours to get back to the city ... Gas ...

Did you get the S or base? I can't believe they dont make ABS or side airbags/curtain standard. Glad you got those options!
nycgps 04-16-2008, 02:36 PM Did you get the S or base? I can't believe they dont make ABS or side airbags/curtain standard. Glad you got those options!
HEre comes another weird part.
to get ABS and/or side airbags, you HAVE TO go for base model. No S.
Not to mention S is not even available in some of the states.
but theres nothing special with S anyway, so Base is fine.

nycgps 04-17-2008, 03:07 PM There isnt much contest here,
The Honda Fit no doubt...
nah, no FIT. :) , I mean DUDE ITS A HONDA ! lol !
Anyway, Im freaking piss off now.
I found the cheapest place to get a Yaris, they have the config that I want but NOT my color of choice, I want Blazing Blue, they only have it in Bayou.
I emailed them my License and Insurance info before they will *Start* looking for a car
The sales guy said finding the car is easy, and as soon as he *Found* one, he will email me with all the spec and stuff just to be sure that thats the one that I want.
I suppose to Go pick it up this coming saturday...
Ok now, 3 days has gone since I last heard from him, no car info, nothing.
I emailed him last night saying that *I want the car to be in the Lot BEFORE I hit the road, I will ONLY take the car with the Config and Color that I told you before, nothing else*, no words back from him yet.
I got pretty *piss* and start reading dealership reviews all over the web, it seems that this dealership has been pulling customers like that all the time, like tell the customer that they *Will* have the car when they're there. but end up nothing, and tries to force customers to take whatever they have on the lot.
Now I kinda regret that I sent my info over so quickly. but doesnt matter.
Now I start looking at another dealership, found another one that has the car in stock, very friendly, used to live in my neighborhood in NYC, willing to even pick me up at the Bus terminal if I decided to get the car from him. the price of the car is about the same as most other dealerships I've quote before. Around 13.5K
Speaking of the price, I think its kinda too good to be true, Everyone else is selling it below invoice I know, but this dealership is like almost 2K under invoice, compare to the other which is only a few hundred bux.
I dont think I should take a chance by *going down south to get the car* and hope that they will have it by saturday.
word ? :)
nycgps 04-17-2008, 03:43 PM Ok, Just got a reply back from them, they say they have the car and gave me the list of specs, same as what I want.
but they're selling the car over 1K under invoice, which is kinda *its too good to be true* IMO. while most of the dealer will not budge anything lower than invoice.
Should I true them ? -_-
TownDrunk 04-17-2008, 05:26 PM I've had a Yaris hatchback for almost 2 years now as my daily driver. It's a great little car if you don't mind the fact that there is "no" power when you need it. The big selling points for me were that it was cheap, and that no one would really want to steal it or think it's worth anything when I leave it parked over night at the commuter train station near my work.
I've never had a problem with it and it happens to get pretty good gas milage. The down side is that the horn sounds like a buzzing bee and I'm almost ashamed to honk it when I need to because I'm sure the person I'm honking at is laughing at the ridiculousness of the sound.

LOL, you need to equip it with fog horn or something. I'm glad the 8 actually has a meaty horn as some of the previous Mazda's I had gave off a neeit neeit... which doesn't do much for a road rage display of anger.

On some Yaris forum, they said that the paint are like so cheap probably 1 layer or something, its so easy to chip, and people are thinking of filing a lawsuit...
Well I think you get what you paid for. I mean my 30K RX8 still chips. Imagine a sub 15K car going to be :ekk:
CarAndDriver 04-18-2008, 01:25 AM HEre comes another weird part.
to get ABS and/or side airbags, you HAVE TO go for base model. No S.
Not to mention S is not even available in some of the states.

Crazy ordering system...
Well just hope that the paint doesn't have that awful peely/fade issue that some 90s Mazdas had.

Now that you mention it; Yes, the paint chips easily. Like you said you get what you pay for. Since I only paid $14K with the options I got, I won't complain too much. One thing that I really love about driving the Yaris: Jumping in my '8 afterward.

lol !
man ... I was *sooooo fuxking* piss yesterday.
I decided to go and *get the damn car*.
So yesterday I woke up at like 4 am .... after got thru all the Trouble (I want to say that GreyHound services fuxking SUCKS!!!!!! made me wait almost 2 & 1/2 hours for NOTHING!!!!) I got to the dealership almost at 3 pm ...
I checked with experian before I go and Im pretty sure Im ok ... then at the dealership they checked me using Equifax .... OMG ... basically speaking for some *weird reasons* my brother's Car loan and some of his credit cards went INTO my credit report ... grrr ... the worst thing is that, that moron forgot to pay some of them which made me look REALLY bad ................. Toyota only use Equifax and their *call center* is closed on weekends ... GRRRRRRRRR .... so no financing. and I have had no cash in hand ..... GAY ....
I wanted to just pay the damn thing with Cash but all banks were closed that time ..........
So I came home empty handed ....
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Motherfux.........
IM going to get a bank check maybe today or tomorrow Just to buy that shit ! Im so piss right now.
Damn Toyotas ... First time getting this shit, Mazda gave me the loan without even checking my credit ... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
CarAndDriver 04-21-2008, 10:35 PM That sucks. How did your brother's stuff get on your report?
ODDDOOD 04-22-2008, 06:32 AM Dude...the car gods saved you from getting the Yaris. Take it as a sign...walk away man...walk away.
Keep your options open, tell me that SX4 isn't looking more appealing?!?
6sp MT...nuff said.
nycgps 04-22-2008, 08:56 AM That sucks. How did your brother's stuff get on your report?
I ran my own credit check yesterday and look thru everything.
I was like. WOW ....
On Equifax, my brother's name & SSN is in MY name & SSN. so 2 names, 2 SSN, all in my account.
I have no idea how they screwed it up like this. 2 names fine I can live with that, but I have another SSN in MY SSN ? How did THAT even happen ?
Transunion messed something up too but not as bad. and I already filed a report online and tell them to *FIX THESE FREAKING MESS*
Equifax does not even allow online dispute, I have to send it thru slow mail. Freaking retards.
Experian got everything right. phew.
How did my brother's messed up crap got into my report? I have zero clue. I think Equifax & Transunion are being run by monkeys which cant even tell between 2 different person's info. they probably saw us having a very similar name and put us together, bunch of retards.
Dude...the car gods saved you from getting the Yaris. Take it as a sign...walk away man...walk away.

Yeah, I am thinking is this really a *sign* ??? ...
SX4 is ok IMO, but if their dealerships werent a dick I could've got 1 already.
nycgps 04-25-2008, 08:38 AM WOW ! JUST WOW !
I got all my money, Ready to go down south today to get the Yaris UNTIL LAsT NIGHT AROUND 7 PM.
The dealership's Sales Manager Called and say that "OH, Sorry we just found out that the car that you want has been *SOLD*, We still have another 2 in stock, its the exact same car just different color, it will be the same price as before since you already locked into nlah blah blah..."
I was about to give him some F word but I was like I will call him back.
FUXKING PIECE OF SHIT !
Im officially piss.
They have the lowest price out of all dealerships, they probably try to make it back from the *high interest* financing, after they found out that I cant get any financing from them (Thanks to my bro, actually), they start giving me all these crap. Cuz the price they're selling the car is at LEAST 1.2K lower than the other dealership are willing to sell.
Im going to write to Toyota, write on dealership reviews, and BBB about this dealership's business practices. Argh !
They said they've *sold* the car I want, when I was there last week, I saw the one they have on the Lot, it looks like it has been there at least couple of weeks, with bird crap on and stuff. I mean that color is not that bad. but its not my 1st color of choice. If they're not dick heads like that I can take that no problem. but now. Dont even expect me to put a penny down to that fuxking dealership
In the mean time ! Im very unhappy about Toyota and seriously considering a FIT now. POS TOYOTA !~
SayNoToPistons 04-25-2008, 05:17 PM See? Shouldve gotten a Fit :) .
CarAndDriver 04-25-2008, 10:02 PM Maybe this is a sign. ;)
Good luck with the credit fiasco. I assume there is now way your brother might have used your SSN?
Razz1 04-25-2008, 10:38 PM mu ha ha.. what are brothers for?
I took your ssn and name and used it.

Thats what everybody saids (its a sign)
Im trying to fix the credit problem. but I mean, Even capitalone can give me a 6% loan no problem, I dont understand what so big deal about Toyota Financing.
Doesnt matter now, Toyota wont be getting my money.
He didnt, Like I said, Experian's credit report was perfect. Its just Transunion and Equifax that has a problem.
Funny thing is, if I type my SSN, my name will not even come up, its just say record not found. but when I put my Brother's SSN, MY SSN will show up with HIS information AND HIS SSN under My record. wtf is that?
mu ha ha.. what are brothers for?

Same answer as above
Stupid credit companies.
CarAndDriver 04-26-2008, 01:19 AM Once your credit report has mistakes it is a b*tch getting them fixed. These three companies pretty much have a strangle hold on the average American.
Trekk 04-27-2008, 02:55 PM IMO I'd get the SX4.
I know for 1 thing the Yaris has very cheap paint the chips off easy. So if you get a yaris get 1 in white or something. The people that have them seem to love them besides the paint thing.
On the SX4 side people love them also and the warrenty is very good. It also uses a motor that has been around for a while.
Opinions are opinions I've been looking into these same 2 cars for a while now for a second car.
nycgps 04-28-2008, 07:43 AM I sealed a deal on a Honda FIT Sport yesterday.
Will pick up the car on Wednesday.
Not up to the financing part yet. but if it goes thru without any questions, that means that fuxking toyota dealer just trying to rip me off in High % interest rate to being with, once they failed, they start giving me shit & dont want me to get the car.
gundarx 04-28-2008, 11:02 PM Woohoo one more happy Fit on the road :)

Yeah I guess. I got a pretty good deal on it.
Manual Sport orange @ like 50 bux under invoice. :)
Im going to write a nice letter to Toyota about this whole thing. Im really sick of business practice like this.

Woo hoo! I'm sure you'll like it. C&D was amazed at its slalom ability. The Fit is light years more fun to drive than the Yaris.
That's a pretty good deal considering Fits are so in demand and you'll have good resale. Glad that things worked out. Please post pics!
JRichter 04-29-2008, 12:28 PM Fit, I read is the better driver's car in its class.

It's a Jazz!

I think the reason is that in NYC, Manual transmission is not that popular.
Most NYC drivers are having a hard time driving properly on the road *already*. So dont even expect them to be able to handle a car with an *extra* pedal
One more day, Cant wait :)

CarAndDriver 04-30-2008, 01:14 AM Keep it stock. No bling! :) Wish they'd call it the Jazz though. Not sure why it wouldn't work here in the US.

I got my FIT yesterday, but hmm ...
I am about to bring it back for a refund, jeeze.
the car is not bad. I just dont like the fact that my TPMS already malfunctioning on Day 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW !!!!!!! ...... My 1st Honda and this is what Im getting ...
Plus I was so tired and hungry that day and I OVERLOOKED some terms and they threw some extended warranty shit into my bill ... didnt even realized it until I got home ... Im going back to the dealership tomorrow morning and get my refund, they think Im 5 yr old ? shit.
StealthTL 05-01-2008, 07:09 PM Bought Wifey a Nissan Versa - the four door & trunk version.
Very neat, with a surprising amount of torque off the line (spoken like a true RX-8 driver!)
Has the CVT tranny, so the engine revs just climb to whatever the throttle amount, then the car zips off at a good pace, with the revs steady.....unsettling!
Nice build quality, the VIN starts with a '3' so it is assembled in Mexico, but the chassis is a Renault design, very cushy ride, and the typical French 'roll' when cornering.
Wifey is more than happy with it, and it was over $5k cheaper than the Mazda 3 (!)
S
nycgps 05-01-2008, 07:27 PM my gf hate Versa for some reason. Plus I dont really trust Nissan's Quality after what my bro has gone thru his Altima SE-R
rattle like crap, problems start showing up after the b to b warranty expires. argh.
Now all Im thinking is, Im going to go back and bitch at them tomorrow (About the tpms) and I want my refund on the extended warranty.

Congrats! Please don't return it :) Maybe the TPMS coming up is just from the tire pressure being low? Could also be a bad tire valve cover?

I dont care how lovely the car is !!! This should NOT happen for a car that has only 5 miles on the odometer !!!!!
Not to mention, I just rechecked everything it seems that they charged me for registration TWICE.
Thats it, Im going back there tomorrow morning, I really need to
- Get the car fix
- Refund the Extended Warranty - AKA Re-do financing - Im not going to tell them Im coming, just gonna walk straight in and like I want a refund on the warranty, re-do financing.
- Get my 127 bux registration money back.
PoS !!! Thats why no one trust dealerships !

Why not the hatch? I think its more practical and looks less awkward. I finally drove a Sentra CVT. It was fine until the freeway when it would suddenly start droning and kick the revs up even if it minor press of the gas pedal. Ugh.
JRichter 05-02-2008, 08:50 AM If only Mazda had this on their US lots... I can't get over how good looking this is for a small car.

the Mazda3 and the Focus are C Segment cars- one level up from the Bsegment that the Fit/Versa/ Mazda2 play in.
So of course the versa is 5k less than the Mazda3.
also the Mazda3 already kicks the Focus' tail. IF its Ford that is keeping the Mazda2 from these shores- and im not convinced it is. it seems like a confidence problem with Mazda themselves that they can price the car appropriately with enough amenitites versus the rest of the market- its because they want their new Verve/Fiesta to succeed here before the 2 arrives

Maybe, but I think it might have something to do with profitable margin, when u think about it, Mazda3 is selling so well for Mazda, and Im pretty sure they can make more money outa a Mazda 3 than selling a Mazda2. So why bother bringing Mazda2 to the US ?
but with current gas prices rate, going and going .... UP ~~ Mazda3 is not really that gas efficient, so maybe a year or 2 they might have to bring Mazda2 to the States. Who knows :)
dynamho 05-02-2008, 11:43 AM U didnt read the whole thread did u ? :)
Sorry. I'm at work. I realize now that you're thinking of returning your Fit. I hope all works out.
rglbegl 05-02-2008, 12:44 PM So the dealership WILL refund the money super fast.
Charging twice for registration is HIGHLY illegal. It usuall happens on used cars, but miscalculating registration is also illegal.
And go get your own financing from your personal bank. I gaurantee they made money on the back end. They dont have to tell you about that part. Just make sure you do it before you make your third payment, that way the dealer does not get their finance money.
A warranty can be cancelled at any time, and the warranty company will pay you back the unused portion of the policy. (remember that next time you trade in a car, most of the time the dealer keeps that money for themselves)
Beagle <--- dealership finance guy
