For those of you with the Nav System:
Has there been any discussion on whether or not it is possible to use the DVD-ROM Drive that runs the NAV software to view DVD movies.

It's been posted before that you can't used the dvd-rom to play dvd movies. You need an interface like the one at avelectronic.com. They have some pictures in the gallery of it on an 8.

when is someone gonna buy the equipment from aveelctonic
I'd do it if I had the skills to install it right. The gallery shot(http://www.avelectronic.com/GalleryPics/RX8/RX8_Tuner.jpg) shows the installed unit behind a rear passenger seat. I haven't even added the strakes yet... tearing out the back seats makes me a little queasy.

I REALLY want to get it and do it BUT, I don't want to void out the warranty....I think i'm going to wait and get some other "factory" accessories before I watch TV on my Nav screen...
