RX-MEN-8 11-07-2003, 08:24 AM Not yet, but I copied and stored the info. (like I did for the rear taillight craze problem which was covered under warranty) Also, i need to find out about the shock sensor advisory that was put out. Will the new one be retrofitted to our cars?? I will speak to the dealer at my oil change. Thanks for the info.
Omicron 11-07-2003, 08:25 AM No problem here.
markh711 11-07-2003, 02:03 PM Mine broke during the PDI of the car ( 7/14/2003 ). They sent the entire assembly back to Mazda, and had a new one for the car on 7/15/2003. I don't know if this is the stronger dials or not though.
Yep, just happened yesterday. Thanks for posting this. The parts guy said he had had to order the entire heating module!!!
rfdjr 11-07-2003, 08:20 PM That was strange! I posted the previous message but it showed the poster as DALT. I logged out, and logged in again to make this post.
r0tor 11-08-2003, 03:46 PM LOL... this happened to my temp knob a few times already. I would crank the heat and turn it all the way to the right and the thing would pop off in my hand. I'd just stick it back on without a problem. Good to know there is a fix for this :p
carnut 11-09-2003, 08:43 PM That's an expensive fix for Mazda if they have to replace the whole assembly!
syntrix 11-09-2003, 09:01 PM Happened to me a few days after owning the car, thought I had the temp in the middle and tried to make it cooler... well it was already on full cold.
I just used some loctite on it and it's been working just fine every since.
wankelmaniac 11-10-2003, 11:10 AM Yep, mine fell off (broke) in the first week. Called dealer, still waiting on new part. Did a quick fix on old knob with super-glue.
Elara 08-05-2004, 02:13 PM okay, so anyone else recently had their temp control knob break off. I guess I didn't pay enough attention the first time around, and now mine's off as well.
8's enough 08-05-2004, 02:28 PM no problem here mfg date 11/03
maddox2351 08-09-2004, 03:22 AM just happened to me a couple weeks ago. part is on order.
zzum-zum 08-09-2004, 04:43 PM The knob on mine didn't come off, but the fan was blowing full hot air all the time and the assembly had to be replaced.
rx8ntexas 08-29-2004, 09:29 PM well, mine broke today.. :-(
davefzr 08-30-2004, 02:21 AM mine broke like 2 months ago and finally got it a few days ago as the part was on back-order...
Irish_in_a_RX8 10-12-2004, 10:30 AM Hey mine finally broke off - I thought this thread was dead!
maddox2351 10-15-2004, 08:11 PM Just an fyi. My new knob had some reinforcments around the plastic part that slides on the metal shaft. If you look at the new one, compared to the old one, you will see what I mean. Anyways, just thought I would mention that.
Still luvin it after 19,000 miles.
