impossible...impossible..what can i say. .THis is will be the best option out for city cars. so later on in the future, we get city cars for every family like that one and then for the rich people they can petro engine cars. PERFECT. (except that an everyday sports car will probably have no place then)
but still, i will support this technology even more than the hydrogen fuel.

it looks like it had really good torque too! i hope this stuff does make it to production because for city driving, it'd be a perfect solution.

exactly... it's similar to how they use test mules for new engines with other car companies... a box is a good design when you just want to test the engine and try to make it street legal.

i just watched this....awesome! had to wait till the later end of the vid before i saw the air rotary but it was an amazing design.

I saw this last year and thought it was a pretty neat and would be really useful for city driving. I imagine you could also recapture some compressed air by incorporating some kind of regenerative braking system to extend the range, which I haven't seen mentioned in any of the articles on this tehnology. But it looks like this thing will be on the market soon (not US though): Tata Air Car (http://blog.norcalcars.com/tata-air-car-in-production/)

I can imagine some folks reading "It runs on air!" and taking that to mean it's harmless on the environment. The compressors obviously have to burn fuel or consume electricity to do the work of compressing air, and I'd like to know the actual efficiency compared to standard gasoline powered engines. Nothing is free.

Well that's certainly true, but the idea is to generate the electricity at a centralized location (and out of the city) where the pollution can be better managed. If you've spent any time in a major city in a developing country like India or China you can see the need for something like this - these are places that are not going to be able to adopt another eco-friendly technology (read electric or hydrogen) any time soon and have massive traffic congestion. I was in India this January and was actually getting nauseous from the pollution in Delhi and Mumbai.

I like that it will improve the health and quality of life for people living and/or working in polluted environments, but it doesn't really solve the larger issue.

Well part of the problem is how the US produces its energy. Alot of what we use are coal fired steam turbines which are not very good for the environment. I think the answer is nuclear power but people are so misinformed on it that they run when ever they hear any talk about it. Also, for whatever reason green groups don't seem to like it? :dunno:

And with the green laws we have right now it is impossible to build one.
