After watching a few videos on youtube...I decided to get a GPS locator for my rx8. I've already had 3 incidents with the car including my oem car cover being stolen...I really don't want the whole car stolen next time in the land of auto thefts (phoenix, i believe it is #1 in auto thefts).

Anyway, I have the Microsoft 2008 Streets & Trips GPS locator and software. I've seen some videos where people used USB GPS locators to track the location of cars (without a computer, it was hardwired in). However, they don't show how they hardwired it into the car. So does anyone know how to take a USB device and hardwire that into the trunk? If not, how would I go about hardwiring a GPS device with a 12v power cord into the trunk?

I'd appreciate if you were as detailed as possible as I am fairly new to car electronics, thanks!

Eh, LoJack isn't as realiable in smaller cities as well as it's expensive to install.

it was just a suggestion. i'm not really sure how you'd hook up a USB GPS without having a computer. try asking the person that posted the video on youtube.
