Interesting Charlie as WHEELS Mag here had the following in their 2007 COTY Winners.
(February 2008 Issue)

1st... Mercedes-Benz C Class (COTY Winner)
2nd.. Mazda 2 (Demio)
3rd... Ford Mondeo

I would like to see the Mazda 2 win, But, I think it is between the other 2, maybe the Merc
