Hey everyone. First post :)

I'm just negotiating the purchase of a 2007 RX-8, and one area of concern is that I already have an MP3 CD player in my existing car and it'd be nice to keep all the cd's I've made.

And of course it's a newb quesiton.

I've heard conflicting reports that the 6-cd changer that comes in the car can in fact play mp3 discs... Can it?

It doesn't make sense that the lower end model plays mp3's but the higher end one does not!

That sucks.. a 6 cd changer w/mp3 would have been sooo sweet :(

It's easier to carry around 30k songs on an ipod and hook it into your HU.

I've got a 6 disk changer and no mp3 support. :(

yup 6CD changer only plays regular audio CDs.

the MP3 cd player is an EASY install though... and i'm sure you can sell the 6 disk and make about half of your money back :)

I'm gonna see if I can get the dealer to throw in an MP3 cd player before I pick it up. I'm also the only one in the world without an Ipod :)
