I borrowed someones pic of their car, since I don't have any of mine yet (Just got it) But after seeing some ideas for custom jobs, I thought this one would be cool.
I was also thinking maybe starting with red, fading to orange and then to yellow! Like a flame!

The only up side is it would be near impossible for the cops tp give a description of your rx8 if they were chassing you .

Great rainbow effect it would ideally suit hairdresers or the odd raving pooof .

LIZZY i suggest you change your hair colour instead and leave your rx8 stock.

Alternatively, you could try one of the Chromaflair finishes from colorshift.com (http://www.colorshift.com). The folks at Jack's Paint Place (http://www.jackspaintplace.com/miata1.htm) in San Antonio did this Miata

and a local guy here in Austin has an FD RX-7 done the same way.

Humm, nice for people who can't make up their mind which colour to go for. A bit of every thing, save the headache:)

hey M-ster,

wasn't that pic or the RX8 in your page footer originally blue? You must be a photoshop god! That picture was the only one ( from the Renesis web site ) I could find on the web of a blue RX8 and it lived on my desktop for weeks while I waited for mine to arrive so I could take pix of the real thing!

reminds me of those t-shirts that were all the rage in the late 80's that changed color when you got warm..

What would be fun would be to get some of that stuff you see in the movies of late that covers the original paint, and allows you to spray your car a new color and when you're over it just use a high preasure hose to "peal" off the "wax" or whatever it is to go back to the original color..

What I wonder would a full body paint job cost on an RX8 in Australia?

has anyone actually had their 8 long enought to paint the bugger?

I like it. If you rearranged the colors a bit you could have a relativistic effect. As an object approaches the speed of light the approaching side starts getting bluer and after it passes the trailing end appears redder. So, front-to back you could go violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red

My mum would make jelly cups that looked like that..

If it was a promo vehicle for a printer or something ... maybe.

To look at from my eyes - puke. (my opinion).

It's certainly stands out. Whatever floats your boat, might not be a great idea in Quincy though, have you thought of relocating to SoCal?

Volkswagen had a Polo where evry single panel was a different colour..also one of my friends had a Jetta which was silver pink and red all blended like that.
Its kinda kewl. Very unusual, trying to sell it would be a bitch tho..
