I'm sooooo glad I don't share you life priorities ..... no offense. Does that mean that your house wouldn't be comfortable if mazda hadn't offered to buy your car back? Aren't mazda great guys!!! Pete 11-04-2003, 01:24 AM sorry to hear that TJRX8 ... Good luck wth the home improvments TJRX8 11-04-2003, 07:40 PM Originally posted by Kev I'm sooooo glad I don't share you life priorities ..... no offense. Does that mean that your house wouldn't be comfortable if mazda hadn't offered to buy your car back? Aren't mazda great guys!!! Yeah Mazda are great guys. Gave me an easy way to feel better about my purchase. Notice I said "me". I purposely avoided getting into the reasons I accepted the buy-back due to responses like this. Besides it has been addressed in many other threads. BTW who said anything about "comfort"? I will say that if investing in something that will give me a return on that investment (monetarily amongst others) than I guess I'm glad you don't share my life's priorites either.... no offense. I had no intentions of stirring up any crap or even opening myself up to ridicule, just wanted to share some parting shots of my car before saying "later". So I will only respond to constructive comments if any for now on. Good luck to the rest of you that continue to own this great car. Would you have sold the car to carry out you renovations if mazda hadn't offered the buy back? You did buy the car in the first place. Mazda offered the buy back to customers who were so truly upset with the pstated horse power reduction that they could get their money back and buy something else or have some extra bonus. They didn't offer the buy back in case people spent their money on the wrong thing and should have spent it on something other than a car. This is a genuine interest. I want to know if you were upset with the RX8 or if you made a financial blunder. You're just TJRX8 here, no harm in saying. Kev. rex 11-04-2003, 09:03 PM Sorry to hear that you're returning your car, TJRX8. Everyone has their priorities and sweet deals like Mazda has offered don't come around very often (ummm...except at Mazda!). Anyway, once you get those floors installed, pick up a diecast RX-8 model (see this thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9126)) and take it for a spin on your floors. Better yet, get a remote control model! Ah heck, sell the house with the hardwood floors and get yourself a whole fleet of RX-8s! -- rex (wondering why he's typing this and not DRIVING his 8!) mikeb 11-04-2003, 09:27 PM rx8 or new floor rx8 or new floor tough choice J/K Superfan 11-05-2003, 12:02 AM Nice picks. I want to know if you were upset with the RX8 or if you made a financial blunder. You're just TJRX8 here, no harm in saying. Kev. I said above that my reasons were mentioned in numerous other threads. But in brief: 1) Preorder: I wasn't real thrilled that I waited 6 months for my pre-order and there were cars available for purchase at the dealers before I picked mine up. (And I got mine only 8 days after the first delivery in the U.S.) I think Mazda made a big boondoggle by allowing dealers to have cars after advertising that they wouldn't be available until early next year. Not the case at all...hundreds maybe thousands available. 2) The MPG: 16-17 is the best I get. 3) I'll be able to get one for less (already confirmed at 3 different dealers) when I decide to buy again. Happy now? :D I am. BTW the home improvements were an afterthought and in no way influenced my initial decision, just made it easier to come to grips with. TJRX8 11-05-2003, 09:49 PM Originally posted by mikeb what do you want in place of the 8 Nothing at this point.
