Trying to find out what is the best cold air intake system out there from people that use them. Also the best exhaust system for the money. I have an 08 6 speed.

Mazdaspeed! With the CAI and the sport exhaust together it is pure sex! Look online at Rosenthals. He is a vendor here.

Stock is the best for the money.

Mods you may want to move this to the modifications/upgrades section where the OP could look to find the answers they seek.

Concur.

From my research the Mazda engineers pretty much got it right the first time. There's not much appreciable add'l horsepower to be garnered by anything less than a full FI mod.

Don't get me wrong, I mentally toy with these intake/exhaust/flywheel/etc. mod's as well, but at the end of the day I always realize it's a relatively minor return on investment.

Stock is the best for the money.

I think it's more of the fact you posted in the wrong area. Your question doesn't really pertain to the Vendor forum you posted this under. One of the "Tech & Performance" forums would have suited better for this thread.

parfive, your welcome. This can be a great place to find info and ask questions. Don't let this descourage you too much! I have seen great information even from individuals who have high noob/flame comments in their post count. The first post can be a bit scary though. Good luck with your mods!

Don't sweat it parrfive. The "do a search..." types will be with us, always.

I'm always dumbfounded by people who would rather waste their time typing "search ...." than simply answering the question.

Personally, if there's a question I've answered a number of times, I simply don't post at all.

btw: that doesn't mean I'm necessarily against the "teach the man to fish" principal, but understand it's often daunting to newcomers.

Vale,Shaun and Huey thank you. The rest of you can kiss my ass. Im new at this site and will never ask another question.

Ya Parrfive... Dont hesitate to ask questions... My comment was directed toward those who would much rather be a jerk then answer the question... I feel like if your actually going to take the time to type something... Then just answer the question, rather then be a jerk... Now i do understand that a lot of new members don't read and search first, but it happens so deal with it... But you got pretty good answers from the start anyway.

I personally have the Mazdaspeed CAI and Dual sport exhaust and I love it... No i didn't gain a million HP but it sounds awesome. Which is really why i got it.

In theory no difference in exhaust sound given just adding the MS intake, but I'll leave it further to someone who might have such a setup.

Most of the people who flamed me for telling people to search, guess what, these people actually never helped anybody,

then the rest of them barely helped anybody.

what makes people like *you* have the right to talk about *helping the others* ?

To Expo1 : hmm, I had 232 post contain the word search ? hmm .... I thought I have more  now it should be 233.

Its good to know that the OP will never come back. He could of got his answers a day ago, Is his car, his warranty, but nooooooo he refuse to do his own homework on the subject.

Is it just me ? When I was in school I never ask anybody a copy of their homework, and I never cheat on tests. sure I did ask for help, but I always tried to find answers on my own before bothering other people. and nope I dont copy answers, I ask them how the question works, and how to solve them, then I figure it out on my own.

Same thing @ work.

Yes some of you are correct I dont have to reply to this post at all, but for those who told me to shut up, let me ask you, what did you do to help the others? You should ask yourself that question first.

To alnielsen : No offense to you, I know the forum rules, Im just expressing my feelings here to all those people who told me to shut up but never offered anything to the community.

Lets give it a month of time, Im gonna shut my mouth to these kind of post. lets just see how many *help* will come from those people who told me to shut up. Starting .... NOW.

what is more fun, just sit back and watch people with just a few posts give wrong advice to people with no posts..

that is entertainment!!!!!! they would have been better to search, at least they would get the right answer..

my new ploy is to help those that try.. the others i let go or throw them a link of my choice...

to all that have less than 25 posts on this thread, watch this to the end it will do you good...

help is here (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting)

lol, your list?

Anyways... while I usually agree with the whole trying to search... and reading stickies.... I must say it's quite odd he posted here... I'm led to believe he just tried to find the very first place he could click the icon that says "New Thread" then started this. There's no reasonable explanation why he chose to post here besides "I dont give a crap".

Get the RB intake for performance or stay stock. If you want sound, then it's up to you, read about what you're buying before you buy it, some intakes actually hurt performance. I know it has been discussed in many places before, give the "Aftermarket and Performance" section a good 10-20 min look and you'll probably find some good answers (not every thread of course... ones that seem to have potential to pertain to your desired topic).

Why I dislike "search'?
Threads like this.....20% subject comments and 80% unrelated crap.
If you do not have any MS CAI info or opinions on MS CAI why post.
It sucks to go through a hundreds of unrelated posts.
Maybe I'm searching wrong, but when I read this thread I got very little
info on the MS CAI.

i think what we older guys need to do is search for the one's that seem like they legitimately attempted to get an answer....this way its more fun for us and easier to give info to some one who actually cares to get the info....not some lazy n00b who wants to be spoon fed info......i used to do the same thing and answer all thier questions but now i find myself getting on them too.......it does get under your skin sometimes

It's a fair question chrism. Example, just yesterday there was yet another question on resetting DSC after disconnecting the battery (at least the indiviudal was aware this caused a need to reset!). I had just answered that last week, taking the time to cut & paste the manual text. So... when I saw it again yesterday I cringed a bit and then didn't bother to respond (someone else did this time).

Search can be daunting for a person new to the forums, so I do cut them some slack. But I agree taht they really should try to help themselves at least a little bit before posting. But then, the lazy will be with us, always.
