At the request of Trochoidmagic, I'm posting this one-time meet idea. I had an entire write up on the location but my computer crashed and lost everything so this'll be short. I actually wanted Rich and some others to cruise with me there on some off night so I could show them and then get a feel if this is something the 8's would like. But Rich just said to run with it. I've been around long enough to get a feel by what has been done, and this idea is along those lines with a twist.

But in short, Del Amo Fashion Center the Promonade section has an upbeat Sushi Bar/Club with a live DJ that I think you all would enjoy.(the links to a map and venue info are below) Lots of different places to hang-out, lots of parking space, lots of things to do (it even has a bowling place, but not sure of pool tables tho). You don't have to dress up but the ladies there will be so it's your choice. It's in Torrance on Carson Street and Hawthorne Blvd being the closest intersection.

As far as when? This coming Saturday the 16th....or next Friday or Saturday(22/23)

And again, if just a couple ppl would like to try it first, that would work.

^^actually, i messed up on my vote. saturday is fine with me. this friday is the autobacs meet, and i love the pre-meet at the lounge. but i'd like to see something new and see what u got goin on there in hawthorne for us.

That is true, it's also why I always go to OC and other cities for there meets. But I feel since the rotary's don't have a negative reputation and the fact the 8's is a modern good looking sports car, it also doesn't attract negative attention. This one place is alright tho. As always, no burn-outs and crap.

Last month the Rx7's had a meet in Torrance In & Out with 50+ turn-out. I thought for sure the cops would set up mod checks, but they made one pass through the parking lot and left. I'm sure if there were burn-outs and stuff, there would have been problems.

No..yes..and cool

Since it is classified as a "resturant" it's all ages so your carded as you order alcohol. But you don't see families there or anything. With the live DJ you do see occasional dancing but no dance floor. As we get closer, I'll post up a map of the meeting point since the parking lot is so huge and it can seem confusing.

K, the votes are pretty close but Saturday the 23rd has a slight lead in the polls =) But it seems all the key playas checked in except Apocalypto. I plan on checking out RA after autobacs this Friday and I'll cruise by this Saturday as well to see what it looks like at about midnight. Also to find a good meet up spot.

K, the plan is next, next Saturday the 23rd. Here's an image of the actual site pointing out the Pavillion where RA is at and also pointing out the meet up spot. We may or may not stay parked there but just a place to meet up. On the very corner of Carson St and Madrona is a Black Angus, I'll prolly be the first one there so look for my red SA or other 8's somewhere behind Black Angus.

Here is a larger view to give you all an idea of the routes everyone will be taking. It's pretty simple, which ever way your coming from, get to either the 405 (South) or the 110 (South) freeways. If your headed south on the 405 your exit will be Hawthorne Blvd. Go south on Hawthorne Blvd til you reach Carson St(about 4 miles) then make a left till you see the Black Angus, but you'll need to turn into the parking lot prior to reaching Black Angus.

If your coming down the 110 your exit will be Carson St then turn right from the off ramp and it's a straight shot all the way till you see Black Angus (about 5 miles) This direction you'll make your first right into the parking lot once you pass Black Angus.

Redondo Beach is circled for a cruise option after.(lots of photo ops there)

-as far as the lil tokyo meet... we meet at the actual location, and do things(eat, drink, play, goof off afterwards)
-as far as this one in delamo mall, its gonna be up for the first run... and guaranteed to have enough fun as much as the first tokyo run's crowd goes as what SA rx7 suggested.

i suggest coming to both of them. its convenient for those interested in L.A. meets... there should be something brewed up for the east-sider's. that crowd is more laid back and subtle, and a new location is still in discussion. try to feel them both out and see what you like and what suits you.
personally, i know both crowds. and there's times when i like the crowd i organized, and i also like what the east sider's have in mind... they just need to work out a better location for activities to do.

There is a very very hidden "security bolt" underneath the panels of the steering wheel holding the radio in place... It's a bitch to get to. I had to use an extension just to get in and there's barely any room to maneuver the ratchet around.... I'll try to find a picture with the security bolt holding the radio in place.

When you remove the cover underneath your steering wheel, you'll see two bolts and further down, you'll see another bolt. Do not remove the two bolts but remove the bolt all the way down inside, it's a bit tricky to get to... and DO NOT DROP THE BOLT! If you drop it, you're screwed.... oh, by the way, I didn't reinstall the bolt when I put everything together. The bolt is only for security reasons so that if people were to break into your car and try to steal the radio, the security bolt will hold it in place. We all have an alarm so we don't have to worry about no security bolt holding the radio in place. I hope this helps :)

^^Yeah, but if you pull up the weather for Torrance 90503, there's no rain all week and if you pull autobacs 90680, it's raining all week. We'll wait and see what really happens, this close to the ocean is always off the forecast. I will do the rain or shine thing, it's up to ya'll, but it'll be mostly indoors anyway. But also I used the word "club" it's far from that as it is a restaurant/bar geared toward the younger crowd. And this is an "8" thing, no 7's are coming except me that I know of. And nothin is etched in stone, do whatever you'd like...that place as you'll see has a variety of shit to do. I'm pretty sure there's a bowling alley too, maybe play a frame. If hanging with the cars is better than the promenade then so be it but I know the autobac 8's, they like diversity. Or chill have some drinks for a bit then go back out, whatever.

Yeah, me too! But i'm in the early rotary club entry at 7am. 2 hours before general public so it'll be a long day for me. I'll prolly leave Greddy at 1pm or so and take a nap for the next round of fun in the evening.
