I ordered an RX-8 on August 1, 2003 - it's been three months and I need to return my loaner car to a friend. The dealer calls every two weeks to tell me the car hasn't arrived. They also tell me they dont' know the VIN number yet.

I don't know if they are being honest or if I'm being jerked around as some of my friends are telling me. I plan to wait two more weeks until I take any action.

1. I made a two thousand dollar deposit. Am I legally bound to buy the RX-8 from this dealer?
2. Is three months a reasonable time to wait or should I wait 4 months?

Have you phoned other dealerships? I found a stinker of one in my city and ended up going somewhere else where I was treated properly.

A deposit should be refundable unless you signed something saying it wasn't. I put mine on my credit card.

What do you have on order? Color? Package? There are so many on the lots here in my area I'm suprised to hear how others around the country have theirs on order or have a limited choice of colors/packages
