View Full Version : All RX-8 Body Kits
miata35 10-31-2003, 05:40 PM I have put together a collection of all the body parts available for the rx-8. Of course this list will grow bigger as the car ages, so add any pics or links that you have in a reply. If any mod wants to sticky this, it would be easier so we wouldnt have people making new threads asking for body kits.

SuperRex 10-31-2003, 09:35 PM wow i like the look of the knightsports a lot except them funny nostrils :)

rx8ntexas 10-31-2003, 10:15 PM Sticky!!! Great info!
Omicron 11-01-2003, 05:53 PM Sure seems like this is becoming a popular tuner car in Asia... which is GREAT news! :)
Just wish I could read the text on all the Japanese sites. I was especially interested to see all the stuff Fujita Engineering has available. Anyone besides me notice the gauge mount?
Omicron 11-01-2003, 05:53 PM ... and this one. Almost looks like they'd install with minimal cutting on the dash... almost flush mount. Let's hope they come out with one of these for a left hand drive model, as these are clearly designed for a right hand driver.
SuperRex 11-02-2003, 11:44 AM this really is sticky material...
Need For Speed 11-02-2003, 01:56 PM this front bumper is exelent for mi progect

XDEEDUBBX 11-03-2003, 12:59 AM this is tight...good shit...you have my vote for a sticky..
If you're looking to translate Japanese to English, try Babel Fish:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/
Enter the URL for the Japanese web site in the "Translate a Web page" field, choose "Japanese to English" in the pull down menu and click the [Translate] button.
It does a reasonable job translating part names but doesn't do as well with prose. You'll get some very weird English. For example, on this page: http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/rx_8/
"The valleymouth seriously there is a Osamu grand prix aim"
Know any valleymouths? You bet!
Still, you can probably get the gist of what's being talked about (more so that reading the Japanese!)

moRotorMotor 11-17-2003, 03:13 PM Thanks for the great find miata35, Thanks! Lots and lots of goodies for our 8 :D I especially like the sweet Defi gauges next to the instrument cluster (posted by Omicron). Too bad it might not fit RHD. Anywho, I'm now torn between getting this one and another set of Defi gauges. photo on bottom

Those look almost exactly like the ones in my 350z...cool
Ok..no one answered when Mikeb asked,..so again..any one have a clue what these are measuring?...numbers go rather high it looks...so definitely not any type of boost gauge...they are neato...
Incredible post. My lust for the RX-8 is regrowing by the second, but the C6 will be unveiled in less than a month.
RotorBalls 12-10-2003, 10:38 AM knight sports all the way baby! Course if you know me :o
miata35 12-18-2003, 03:03 PM few new ones added
idle0ne 12-31-2003, 05:22 PM why is it so hard to find many body kits for the rx8 is it because it is so new or what? i have only been able to find like 4-5 of them and they are not my style.
anyone know of a good site for them? i already checked rx8store.com hehe
Genom 12-31-2003, 06:30 PM The car has only existed for about 7 months now. It takes time to develope these kits. There's several links in the apearance section with all the different body kits linked in.
INGS, 2 Veilside, MS, RE Ameniya, R-Magic, Autoexe, Buddy, etc. There's almost 10 I think already.
idle0ne 12-31-2003, 06:50 PM the only one i really like is the veilside version 2 where can i purchse this when ready? the site that shows it in the post above doesnt seem to have a buy button they just show prices.
anyone that can tell me what a typical paint job on a body kit will cost me? i know they come plain and need to be painted with my car's color.
also what is a good place to get decals and crap put on the car like a lot of the mod cars have?
i will be taking a run to the local car accessory store 'Big Boys Toys' friday to check out what they offer.

I'm assuming a tire heat meter is used for racing. You need warm/hot tires to get the best traction. That's why if you ever see or watch motorcycle racing, you'll see that they warm their tires in eletric blankets/tire wraps before they race so it'll be nice and ready when they do. :)

Or if sustaining high speeds, to make sure the tires don't reach an unsafe operating temperature.:)
sup3rbad 01-03-2004, 09:56 PM Anyone from North Florida check out the buddyclub2 site. They are developing a widebody kit for the rx-8 and they need a car to sponsor. I'd take the offer for my self but I don't live in Florida. http://www.buddyclub2.com
I'm not affiliated with buddyclub in any way. I just wanted to expand the possibilities for the 8.
Omicron 01-03-2004, 10:09 PM Genom or JimW? Either one of you guys interested?

bedrock83 01-04-2004, 03:01 AM I have a black rx8. Do you think the mazdaspeed front bumper, or the (1st)veilside front? I dont know how the mazdaspeed kit will look on a black rx8.
sup3rbad 01-04-2004, 05:28 PM No prob. I figured if I couldn't do it, I'd pass the knowledge on to someone with a chance. Good luck.

idle0ne 01-07-2004, 10:15 AM the more i think about it i think i would like to buy the buddy 2 kit anyone know when that will be available i know they were seeking someone to test or something in florida...
TiTaniumRX8 01-07-2004, 10:07 PM Yea idleone i'm with you here... Anyone w/ info on that kit pleez share! I checked out the site posted on page 3 or 4 i think... and couldnt find any info at all.
THAT KIT IS SO NICE (ings is nice too but soo much $)
also jus checked out the link on the first page, the cant read it... is this even coming out in the US?
sup3rbad 01-08-2004, 12:04 AM Hopefully they sponsor one of on the forum so we can get updated on it. the buddyclub 2 kits look way cleaner than the originals.
idle0ne 01-08-2004, 02:38 AM someone from the forum contacted them and will keep us posted.
buddy 2 is not out yet but it is based in i believe jacksonville FL
TiTaniumRX8 01-08-2004, 11:21 AM So then The Buddy Club kit is not part of buddy 2... Then is it possible to get that in the US?
Im gunna be in florida in about a month for a job. I think ill be there for 2 weeks, not gunna be by jacksonville... i wonder how long they need, or if they'll sponsor a car in Chicago (doubt it).

TrAsHeR 01-10-2004, 11:22 PM OMG, that new R Magic kit definately has something.
The veilside package looks nice as well. What does it take to modify the doors to this style? Is that something the average/pro shop can do or do you have to have the skills and do it yourself?
I'm glad I'm holding out with my bodykit for at least another 2-4 month, I'm curious with what else they come up with.
TiTaniumRX8 01-11-2004, 10:59 PM wow... just when you think u made up your mind, BAM, another great kit

This very thread you're in now is the best you're gonna find. Print it out, then go through this forum looking for any new ones that have come out since this thread was created.
In fact, if you do that then post an update on this thread, it'd be a great service to everyone.
idle0ne 01-16-2004, 11:53 PM yea but i mean where i can buy the ones that are already out.
Omicron 01-17-2004, 08:56 AM You have to search the threads to find a vendor.
If I were you, I'd do this: Pick out your top 2 or 3 kits. During your research, if you don't find vendor names, throw the question out again and see if anyone knows. There's too many kits on the market now to just ask generically "Where can I get all the kits" as it could be as many as 25 different vendors, and no one can tell you who they all are without spending lots of time compiling the list. But if you ask, for instance, "Where can I get the Mazdaspeed and RE-Amemiya kits?" I could tell you to check with Trussville and Rosenthal Mazda for the MS kit, and Japanparts.com for the RE-Amemiya.
Hope this helps.
idle0ne 01-17-2004, 10:17 AM by the way i dont se the RE-Amemiya at japanparts.com :)
Omicron 01-17-2004, 10:26 AM 'Scuse me, I meant to say AutoEXE (http://www.japanparts.com/shop/shop.cgi?mode=itemlist&maker=Mazda&type_car=RX%2d8+SE3P&type_second=Interior+and+Exterior&type_third=Aero+Parts%2fBody+Kits). :)

med_carlos507 01-26-2004, 09:06 AM Anyone know where I can get the door conversion kit that i saw on the vellside 8 on page 5 of this thread. It is sweet and maybe if the price is right.
idle0ne 01-26-2004, 03:33 PM the door conversion is nice but i couldnt see it going for any less than $2000 and IMO that is too much, it also looks like they may keep the back doors from opening.
mikeb 01-26-2004, 05:20 PM try decah.net or teamprototype.com for these kits
idle0ne 01-26-2004, 05:28 PM nice sites but i dont see any of them for the rx8 the closest i see is for the RX7
mikeb 01-26-2004, 05:32 PM no one has it for the rx8 yet
but it can be done
call one of the shops up and they will tell you
idle0ne 01-26-2004, 05:38 PM hmm what do you mean it can be done?
do you mean buy the RX7 kit and it will work with the 8
of do you mean it is something that has to be custom done?
mikeb 01-26-2004, 05:43 PM I mean I think its pretty easy to make this kit
if you call the store I'm sure they could make a kit for the rx8
It's just a matter of time before its mass produced
idle0ne 01-26-2004, 05:45 PM if i were to call it would probably be more expensive lol i will wait until they are mass produced ;) $1200 still seems a bit expensive for a mod like that
JMRhee 02-02-2004, 11:56 AM Thanks for the sites...I think I'm going to go with the new Veilside..I called and won;'t be out til summer...On those gauge panel, very very nice...

mdw33333 02-22-2004, 09:53 PM Anyone know where I can find a better pic of the R Magic 2 rear end? I like their front lip spoiler and side skirts, but looking at the pic of the back, I can't tell what it looks like. The car in the photo is black and it's hard to make out what the back piece looks like. I'd like to see the back of the yellow car that they show from the front. Any help would be appreciated.

However, I tried to get it translated at -> http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr and just got an error message. Any idea on the cost and shipping for a painted leg-sport lip spoiler?

rx8spiritR 06-04-2004, 02:37 AM hey thanks for the informations, that helps a lot, at least by now i know it's from styleking. but it's said that the lip is carbon fiber, but in the pictures of the porject, in the november section, it's white..... look like some fiber class to me...
hatebbobbarker 06-04-2004, 09:52 AM it coems in either fiberglass or carbon fiber, your choice
rx8spiritR 06-05-2004, 02:35 AM anyone want my stock lip, ti gray. perfect condition, just make me an offer and pay for the shipping.
rx8spiritR 06-06-2004, 03:56 PM alright, I love the lip, so I called superautobacs usa store, they said it's totally possible for them to get that lip here from japan. BUT i have to go to their store in person to put down a deposit which is like 600 dollar that includs everything. now, it'll cost me 6 hours to get there, and 6 to come back. then another 6 hours to pick it up and 6 hours to come back. do anyone of you guys have a better idea or do I have another option on the lip?
hatebbobbarker 06-06-2004, 04:52 PM i suggest you dont buy it from autobacs.
but anywhere you buy it youll haveto put a deposit
mikeb 06-06-2004, 05:27 PM cant you give them a credit card number??
rx8spiritR 06-07-2004, 02:36 AM i tried and they said no, beside, i really don't know where else i can get the lip other than super autobacs.....
hatebbobbarker 06-07-2004, 10:45 AM im amidst getting my business off the ground but im sure i can get it.
our website should be up in a week.
the only thing is I require a full deposit on something of that price.

Outlaws eXtreme 06-18-2004, 06:14 AM Actually you don't want to buy anything from them though... it will take forever to get a response, then it'll take forever to get your product. Read the Good/Bad section for people... Bulletproof has a good website.. easy flowing, etc etc... but terrible place to buy anything.

I second that. I totally forgot about the service. I sent them an e-mail about 2 weeks ago and have yet to recieve a reply.
AeroWerksOnline 06-29-2004, 03:53 AM Don't forget that you can get a MS Style Urethane Kit with us. Check out our group buy in the vendor forums or just click the banner on our signature...
Outlaws eXtreme 06-29-2004, 04:52 AM Hey Isn't it ironic we met with that guy at the Rotary Xecret BBQ from BP Auto, Richard Schroeck, and even after talking to him, thought we can get in touch with him much easier to discuss Bodykit stuff... still haven't heard from him since the BBQ. That's an awful long time to return a simple e-mail.

04RX8DRIVER 07-06-2004, 01:44 AM That RMAGIC wide body kit is absolutely sweet! The color scheme blows, but the kit is insane!!!
sea-rx8 07-17-2004, 02:12 PM So here is my story..... I am getting a body kit for my 8....but I did not want one that was to "over the edge" So after careful consideration I have decided to go with the mazdaspeed front and side (on order now). But I do not like the MS rear. I am still trying to decide what rear end to order, so to help me out I did on montage of the rear ends like one was done for the front ends. Hope you like it.

If you want something solid and not too "over the edge" i think the AUTO-EXE rear end would be best for you. or possibly INGS
mikeb 07-17-2004, 09:39 PM I would get the v1 rear from veilside
shelleys_man_06 07-26-2004, 01:24 PM What's with the NRF bodykit? It's quite reminiscent of the big-mouth hibachi kits of 2000. If NRF incorporated it into a wide-body kit, that would be cool . Also, check out what Ab-Flug is doing.

shelleys_man_06 08-07-2004, 09:55 PM I was on KS-Auto's webpage, and I found this.
http://www.ks-auto.com/turning/media/images/REVSPEED_200409.jpg
Does anyone know if that bodykit belongs to KS-Auto, or is it something else?
miata35 08-07-2004, 10:33 PM i'm pretty sure that is the INGS kit. KS makes the burnout series which are just carbon fiber lip spoilers.
sup3rbad 08-07-2004, 10:56 PM it's INGS' kit
shelleys_man_06 08-15-2004, 10:36 PM I thought so. :)

mspeed11 09-19-2004, 09:00 PM no way !>!>! that kit is the shit. i can just see the big ass intercooler im going to have cramed in there:D but the sides and rear def and wing from eXtremor are what iv ben hopeing for!!!!!!!!! thank god this is all coming together very very very nice:D
mspeed11 09-19-2004, 09:07 PM the way i see it the nrf front is the only one so far that would even come close to alowing enough air flow to a good turbo and still have enough for the rad and both oil coolers. i dont think they did a good enough job painting all the crap behind the openings so that you dont realy see it though. just wait and see what im going to do with bothe of them on one car:D
sup3rbad 09-19-2004, 09:08 PM does anyone else find it ironic that the pieces are extreme yet the spoiler seems so conservative?
mspeed11 09-19-2004, 09:22 PM i like the low spoiler! and the defusers omg its the coolst! im triping out like a 6year old over everything but the front end crap!

shigginsrx8 09-19-2004, 11:28 PM I think it might look alright on a darker colour, but I would have to see it in person to make that call. It 'looks' really race inspired, I will give it that
mspeed11 09-20-2004, 01:50 AM damn . . . . the more i look at this front clip the urg to grab my cc gets stronger and stronger. and the fact that most people on here think its ugly makes me even more excited:D

shelleys_man_06 09-24-2004, 08:39 PM Racing Beat also has a lip spoiler.

shelleys_man_06 09-25-2004, 10:42 PM It's a diffractor for increased aerodynamics. KS-Auto also has something similar to that. I don't know if they work for sure. HimsElf - My experience is that bodykits are much cheaper in the US och in Japan. Take a look at the first side of this thread and simply e-mail some of the venders selling the kit you want.
