Well i just bought my mazda speed cold air intake and i should be getting it in the mail in a day or 2, so while im waiting i thought i would ask if anybody would have some advice for installing it. i never installed any after markt parts on a car yet so i figured any advice would be very help full....thanks in advance

The most time consuming part is taking the front bumper off for the first time. This (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=10941) is the DIY I used to help with that. The instructions that come with it are pretty good, except in regards to the bumper.

I would agree with the above. Make sure to rest the bumper on a blanket or something to keep it from getting scratched. Might want to get a friend to help you take it off and put it back on. This is a pretty easy mod, I just did it with a friend a month and a half ago - it was my first real mod! Make sure to take your time and read through the directions before you start yanking stuff out. Good luck.

I need help as well i just installed a k&n cold air on my 04 rx8 but it wont idle correct and keeps dying...any ideas?

did you reinstall the mesh screens? Those are pretty important or your MAF sensor won't be happy which means it won't idle properly.
speaking of MAF: is it plugged in?

Better than the DIY on the bumper. It's a little long and he goes a liuttle slow, but worth a look.

i would have to disagree. it took longer to take off the crash bar.:eek:
i didnt expect that we would need to, but without the right tools it was a tough install.

Will try to put the screens in tomorrow, and conveniently it did not come with instructions :)
