Hi,

I'm taking a 3K road trip and just bought a TomTom. Has anyone done a hardwire for their navigation? Is it pretty straight forward or should I just get it professionally done?

This is what I found one ebay. Does this just tap straight into the fuse box or battery. I have no idea, thanks!

So I think I pretty much figured out that it can be hardwired like a radar. I found this nice DIY. Can anyone confirm this?

it's a simple install into a 12v supply, just like the radar detectors. Find a 12v supply that's on when the car is on, i'd suggest the back of the cig lighter since you have 40 feet of cable to play with. Run it up behind the dash to where ever you're going to mount it.
