Guys --been tracking for a while with my na rx8. Recently added the pettit s.c. package and it has totally transformed the car.
Just wondering if any FI is tracking and if so what if any things they had to do differently?

JK, I've never messed with the RX8 FI, but have a fair amount of experience in driving and working on Mustang track cars that were supercharged. The biggest issue was (is) heat build up....it is a vicious cycle. Not sure in the RX8 application, though, but I don't know why it would be any different

 

Cooling would be a problem considering how our engine runs naturally hot

 

Hymee was tracking a test car down under - maybe give him a buzz.

 

A friend of mine runs a Pettit supercharger (on a Pettit tune dialed in for roadcourse) and it runs perfectly fine. He even ran well in the high heat of summer with no overheating, lap after lap. I'm shocked.

 

My forum name is associated with cooling and temps. And I have already For that particular reason have decided no tracking in the hot 100F days of Summer in georgia. I can already tell from daily driving that temps are going to be a little higher. Nothing to worry about, but not to ignore either. The air/water intercooler of the pettit system works really well and with the lower rpm it allows tracking may end up --no sweat.
I was wondering if anyone is running different plugs, running a midpipe for track only, belt tension adjustments for tracking etc type of thing.
Also what size of tire did they have to go up too?
