Hey guys, does anyone know which wire is the oxgen sensor signal wire?

because I am trying to install my fuel air ratio gauge and I cant seem to find the damn wire to splice

the reason why i made new thread is cus i cant find it on the technocal wiring diagram

The front O2 sensor has 4 wires, I.E. heater circuit = L/O+W/R and sensor circuit = V+P. These letters represent the color of each wire, see picture. http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=7064881
The wire you need is I believe marked 'P' and connected to 2C on the PCM, but I'm not absolutely sure. Anyway I hope that helps.

P stands for pink, but that won't help you at all.

Your meter needs it's own wideband sensor, the front sensor on the RX-8 is not voltage or pulse, it's a current based system - as in "will not work with meters."

As always, my 'facts' remain open to correction.

I see, so the only way to make the gauge work is if I get my own wide band o2 sensor and weld it onto the midpipe?

Muffler shops can drill and weld a bung in place in minutes.

Mine is just ahead of the cat 3-bolt joint, on the header.

Assuming the O2 sensor is 18mmx1.5mm thread, as is stock.

A traditional narrow-band gauge will work with the rear sensor, but the data it will provide is essentially useless.

question on this topic...

the first o2 is a current based signal sensor (wideband) and the rear o2(there to check catalytic efficiency) runs off a reference voltage... the signal his a/f meter will run off of. <---just verifying the info

i kept an old auto meter that i ran on my honda(nevere mind that) with a rising rate regulator/fuel return system that had a heated o2 sensor. i plan to pair this off with a RP supercat, just to see where things are at.

i have no plans to FI this thing or run catless. i can't justify the cost to get a wideband if its not gonna see heavy tuning and altered a/f ratio, maybe to lean out... but i still wanna see where i'm at. so my approach with this to pair with a RP supercat would make sense, right?

i'm bringing this up as it makes sense to dial in stoich if u got a adjustable fuel regulator. but otherwise, would it be helpful or even somewhat useful to keep and use on the 8 just to see where things are at and check the condition of the cat if i'm goin to use the RP supercat unit?
