sure its not completely necessary but if you were trying to sell a motor wouldnt you think giving the year of it for mileage reasons would help your sale?
an '04 6 port with 40k miles on it is a lot different than an '07 6 port with 40k miles on it dont you think? but ya, i guess the year doesnt matter....
also a lot of people call "new" as anything thats newer than what they are used to. a "new" motor could be an '04 if this guy has driven a 1980's honda all his life...
and just hope its not a '04 or '05 with enough miles on it where his lost compression and couldnt get it replaced under warranty so now he is trying to sell his dead motor on here to regain some unforseen cost. Who knows since this guy gives us no info....
