The old rotary shaped ones in the past WERE the Mazda badges at the time. The flying "M" is Mazda's new badge and thus is put on the RX-8.

it just seems they went out of there way to incorpate the rotory shape into the whole car so why not the front badge too
and in my opinon it looks better

Yeah I think the traditional Rotary Engine badges were the gear.

I like the flying M badge that Mazda currently uses. I could not see Mazda using a different badge for just this car as that gets into the whole brand management, marketing thing. All companies have one logo and use just that logo for all external communication. If a company starts using different logos it starts to confuse the customer and dilute the brand. This is also why you see many companies using just one ad manager to manage their global communications. It allows the company to project just one message globally instead of a bunch of different possible conflicting messages.

Any Mazda built from probably about 1993 to 1998 I believe would have the old rotor shaped emblem you're talking about. Go to a junkyard, they should have at least one wrecked 626, protege, something that has this logo on it.

I prefer no badges, the 2 rotor shapes in the front and back are enough for me. My opinion, I would shave them but theyre drilled into the bumpers, not glued on. Except "RX8", that came off, lol.

fuck all badges, the car speaks loud enough..........I dont need an emblem to let people know I have a rotary, I just need to put my shit in neutral and give a 9200 rpm rev. Thats so fun to do to old people walking on sidewalks
