Got the Mazdaspeed wing installed today!
It was a professional development day today (ie. school's out) and at lunch I decided to swing by mazda to see a friend and check on the wing order. Turns out it just came in so right after the rest of my meetings, I headed back there and got it installed and ... looks great.
One problem though, when we took off the stock spoiler there was a scratch where the old spoiler meet the trunk at the front. It was on both sides to some extent but larger on the one side (the right). The MS wing, while it does cover holes from the stock spoiler and part of the trunk doesn't cover these scratches further up the trunk.
We washed the car and applied a little touch up paint and clearcoat. To be honest, the scratches don't really bother me that much, they're pretty much concealed by the touch up. I wouldn't mind a few tips on how to care for this area but I am somewhat resigned to the fact that this car will get some battle wounds and still look cool.
Anyhow, just wanted to point out to anyone changing from the stock spoiler to the Mazdaspeed wing, there could be some scratches revealed ... or there was for me.
And finally ... I received my clear corners in the mail. I am going to install those myself sometime tomorrow so I'm eventually going to finally post my car.
