I purchased a used greddy kit with an interceptor-x. With my lack of self confidence in performing the install myself, I took it to a shop to install. Now the issues begin. At first startup, there was a very, very rich smell, the car also could not hold idle and would shortly thereafter die. They loaded, or assumed they loaded the base map on the serial dongle. Again the same issue. My questions would be, is it possible that the base map could be so off from a tuning perspective that it could cause the problems? Is it also possible that the "base maps" have been overwritten to a new top secret-blow up my car-super tune? Furthermore, is there any common install issues that would cause these symptoms? I would be greatful for any help anyone can provide.

If the base map in the unit is the original Mazsport map then no, many customers (in your area) are running on the original base map and daily driving their Greddy turbocharged cars.
Without a doubt, we do not know the origin of the map in the unit.
Yes, connect your laptop to the Interceptor-X and verify the load screen is showing manifold vac. At idle it should be in the 17"-20" range, if it is not the vac./press. signal is not corrected properly. Very simple fix.
Call me at the shop today and I will help, Scott 727-530-9960

Well improvements were made today, thanks to Scott for graciously lending a hand or atleast a phone call. The car idles fine and according to the shop seemed to be fine. I just got off the phone with them and they said after they were taking a test drive around the shop the car just died. They didn't really go into much detail other than saying they would call me tomorrow. So...who knows.
