Help me out people , I have a 1988 Cadillac Coupe de Ville . The car is pretty much just sitting in my garage . I'll wash it here and there and let it sit on the drive way. If anything I'll drive around the neighborhood once in awhile. It has vouge tires , hammer rims , soft top with pillows. In other words is in very, very good conditions. Has 66,000 mile on it.

Being an 1988 will this car be consider a classic next year (2008) or not ?

I though it was consider a classic after 20 years , but i went to a meet a few weeks ago and one of the guys tells me, to be consider a classic it has to be 25 years.

I need your experience in this .......

Thanks:

I could of swore it was 20 years also. Be interesting to see if we are both right in this. So come 2024 my Rx8 will be a classic whoohoo.

I have no experience in it, but I do have www.google.com. It seems to agree with your freind at the car show in that a classic is defined as a car 25 years or older.

That would really stink if it's really 25 years. I've had the car since 1996 and been looking foward to 08.

A classic car is 25 years or older. Why do you want it to be a classic so bad? If its for insurance reasons you can get collectable car insurance for very similar savings you just have to log under 5000 miles a year and keep it in a locked garage.

I guest you and I have a few more years to go, lol . No not for insurance , just something I kind of wonder about. Plus the fact I won't have to worry about that emission test every year. It's like the beat the crap out of the car.

Thanks.......
