I have a question about spoilers, sorry I just turned 16 so all this car stuff is new to me. =X

Anyways I was wondering, a few things. The RX8 that I am planning to get already has a spoiler. Is that a stock spoiler or a Mazda branded one? It's the spoiler that almost every RX8 has.

2nd.. How much would it cost to get an aftermarket spoiler installed on average? I know probably depends on which kit you purchase, but how much would it cost around?

3rd.. Could I remove that spoiler thats on the RX8 and replace it? How easy is it to remove one of those spoilers? Thanks a ton.

Almost everyone has? Then it probably is.

for aftermarket spoilers it really depends on the location, most use the stock location like Mazda OEM and Mazdaspeed. some like need u to drill some holes. but if u already have the OEM spoiler, it should be easy you can probably do it yourself (the holes are already there)

Yes you can remove the stock spoiler. not hard, hand tools will do the job.

Why would you need a spoiler unless you're flying down the street at 150+ mph?

That, or you're doing racing.

mostly for cosmetics...same reason u get strakes, accents, or different rims

Ain't got no strakes, spoilers or "different" rims. All its got is one loud MazdaSpeed exhaust, and OEM wheels painted titanium grey.

I do tempt myself with the strakes and spoilers though. Just can't decide if I want a MazdaSpeed spoiler or a Mazda one.

if it's the spoiler that most people have, its most likely the stock spoiler. The Mazdaspeed Wing is an option but it runs around $900 - $1,000 for the authentic version. (replicas are CRAP)

Here's a side by side of the two; which one were you referring to?

2) Installation costs are going to vary greatly based on what was on there before. If the car you're getting already has the spoiler then odds are you'll need to get the holes filled before you add a new spoiler.

So you have a noise maker?

and the spoiler is functional as a trunk lid handle :lol2:

aftermarket spoiler could greatly differ in cost especially if it comes unpainted (certain colors are more expensive), fitment issues (if it has to be adjusted), or finish (if it does come unpainted but its rough), even the holes or the cost or having to repaint the trunk depending on what type

GT Wing perhaps, but doubtful the stock one does anything besides provide rear downdforce in the form of extra weight in the rear ;)

I'm really beginning to like the small lip spoiler that I see more and more. Do a search and don't miss that one.........I'm too lazy at the moment.
