View Full Version : Autoweek wants US!
tpryor 10-11-2003, 02:09 PM The new issue of Autoweek is asking for owners of several types of cars - including the RX-8 - to respond with the following:
"We need to know when you bought it, what you paid, your opinions and other vehicles you considered. Include your mailing address, phone number and vehicle identification number (VIN)."

Lets let them hear it, this would be the time to let them know how much we LOVE this car..............
Elara 10-11-2003, 03:03 PM I sent mine in- hope they don't mind that I let my subscription lapse last year.
spdspappy 10-11-2003, 03:58 PM Mine's in...
Voice of Reason 10-11-2003, 03:59 PM Tell me again why I want to send some highly personal data including detailed contact information to these people?
Elara 10-11-2003, 04:35 PM Apparently you don't, so why mention it? They already have all my personal info, since I had a subscription- and I really don't care about the VIN #. It's not like Autoweek, of all organizations, is going to steal my car or something.

Amen, sister! I had decided to ignore it (look at the total posts), but those are my thoughts exactly.
mikeb 10-11-2003, 07:08 PM cool link thanks
RX-GR8 10-11-2003, 11:15 PM thank you
RodsterinFL 10-15-2003, 06:49 PM this is great. I hope that we keep away from the picky little things as they contact each of us. Read the article on the G35 coupe. People shared everything - good BUT rather than a complaint we should focus on what we would like to see rather than I dont like this or that.
6speed8 10-19-2003, 10:31 AM Did you read the cover story #3 (Feb 2003)? Autoweek called the RX-8 a 'sporty, not sports car' - I don't know what it will take to convince them - Mid front engine, rear wheel drive, serious suspension and braking harware and an engine that lives to rev, plus a great shifting transmission and superb handling.
Maybe it's just me, but the only thing different from THIS sports car and all others is the extra 2 seats. Autoweek needs to take off the blinders.
Astor 10-19-2003, 10:58 AM Sort of off topic but not, a girl I work with mentioned hearing about people writing down your VIN say at the grocery and then going to Mazda to get a new key, but that is BS, I think your key has a special #, and my dealer knows me, I spent about a week up there negotiating a finance rate.

Amen! I don't understand all the "sports car snobs" who are perfectly willing to overlook the fact that lots of "sports cars" are 2+2 coupes (they have 4 seats too, never mind that the back ones are unusable), but they can't bring themselves to call the RX-8 a "sports car".
