I keep getting cel and had my 8 scanned (not by Mazda). it's P0139 O2 sensor bank, cat slow response. I made an appointiment with Mazda to look at it. I spoke to a tech and asked him if it was my cat or just the O2 sensor. Of course he really wouldn't answer me but asked if my engine was resetting and the cel going out. It is! My appointment isn't till Next Monday. He also aked me how many miles to which I responded 87,000.

I'm just trying to find out if anyone else had this problem with a thrown cel resetting itself and going out, then coming back a few days later. Also, was this the cat that needed replacing or was it the O2 sensor that was bad or something else. I don't trust Mazda. The service manager where I had my car scanned originally (non Mazda) told me it could be a bad O2 sensor or the cat.

HELP!

Consider taking it to Wayne Mazda, if you haven't already. They have a very good service dept.

Nothing last forever.

Try to take it to Wayne Mazda like New York said, I've never been there but New Yorker had good experience with them. Makes me wanna go there too ! (but I keep thinking of paying toll is a bad thing ...j/k )

I wanna go there too but I got work and school all weekdays ...

Think you'll like them. They're the "world's largest Mazda dealer"! And, until very recently, Mazda was the only car they sold. So their mechanics work on Mazdas (and RX-8s) a lot more than mechanics at other dealers. Anyway, lots of gearheads take their cars there. Let us know how it turns out!

God ya know, I do sound like I work for them, don't I?! No, I don't! (I think it's because I'm an ad guy, so stuff I say sometimes sounds like I'm selling something. SORRY!) :)

Let's make some ads! Starting with a RX8 ad.

I'm assuming you work in the city at one of the agency's. I worked in the city for a few years. I am back in Jersey now.
