How much a month are you guys/girls paying? If I were to put 2k-4k down on a 5 year loan what should I expect.

Loan calcs suck!! I took a loan out for my vette my loan was for 22,500 and a 4 year plan and im only paying 410 a month, on the loan calc it said over $500 a month and I even added a lower % then I got on my loan and it was still higher, I tryed this on many sites and got the same responce.

My car was a little over 30K, total amount of purchase with tax and tags was right around 32K. I put down $2600, financed 29500 at 4.9 and my payments are 560 for 60 months.

I good loan calculator is always right, as long as you are comparing the same figures. If it is not matching up with your current loan, or fianancing offered by a dealer, you need to find out why.

$22,500 at 4yrs (48months) and 0% interest is $465 a month. You are either in a 5yr or greater loan, or you are in some back end loan where you will still owe money after 4yrs.

$0 I don't buy a car unless I can pay for it in cash. I know that doesn't always make the best financial sense but I just don't want a monthly bill be detrimental to my enthusiasm - especialy after having the car fora couple of years.

Good for you! I did that with my previous car, and was less stressful.

With the RX8, I put half down, payments are 277 a month. I can live with that.

It makes financial sense if the interest you'll pay is more than the interest that same money could earn if you didn't spend it on a car.

OTOH, it's really nice not having any car payments. :)

I had a friend who had something like that on a del Sol, of all cars- he was paying an insane amount every month, and the car finally got repossed. Scary stuff!

Sindows, how much is the 8 you're looking at? Mine was fully loaded, I put down $9500, and my payments are about $450 for 60 months (though we plan to pay it off before the warranty is up).

All of the loan calcs I have every tried are pretty accurate. Give me the exact amount you plan to finance, the interest rate and the number of months and I will calculate the exact monthly payment on my HP 12C (financial calculator)

BTW, what is the exact interest rate on your Vette loan?
