Someone on the Yahoo Groups forum posted this a couple weeks ago, and I don't remember seeing anything about it here.
"Had my car in for service on Tuesday and the mechanic informed that Mazda was issuing a service bulletin on the A/C. Apparently there is a switch that needs to be replaced that allows the compressor to cycle longer resulting in a 5 degree lower temp."
Anyone know anything about this? Mark O., are you on this forum?
Just wondering if this can be confirmed and has anyone had this work done. Thanks.

I drove three RX8s at the dealer before choosing mine. In the demo the air conditioning worked well. The second car was a brand new one, and the A/C didn't seem to work at all. The salesman said he needed to report that car to the service department. I bought the third car I drove - it had the best A/C of all and really was much cooler than the other two. It will be interesting to see whether there is truth to this service bulletin.

I think there could be some definite truth to it. I will try and check on Monday.
I see no reason for the A/C to keep cycling like it does. That can't be good for the compressor.
Thank God fall is here. It is less of an issue now, but it will come back come late spring here in Houston.

Though the car has only about 250 miles so far I've experienced no problems with the AC. I'm out in Phx whare it's still in the high 90s to 100s. Still feels as cool as always and only use it on setting 2. As it cools down it wont be much of a factor and hard to tell if there is an issue that has yet to arise with my AC. Next summer will be the true test as we see temps in exess of 115.
