I can not seem remove the plug from the driver side power window swith. Normaly these things have a plastic clip that is part of the plug but this one seems to be a bit more compicated. Anyone have any success they could share.

Mikeb,

Love your setup by the way. I have almost the same setup myself.

I'll take a picture tomorrow.

Goodyrx8, I've been wanting to see the aluminum power window switches. I've only seen them in the little accessories booklet and seeing how you still have to keep the power mirror adjustment black and kept me on the fence on whether or not to switch them out. Can't wait for your pictures!

Okay, I finally got the plug removed with a little elbow greese and a screw driver:D

Although the mirror switch isn't aluminum it still looks good IMO. Here are some photos:

Nice Pictures! I like the contrast they provide against the black. I have a couple of questions though.

1. How is the quality of the feel? Does it feel like they may peel or chip after a some usage?

2. Do they glow when you turn on the lights?

3. How did you manage to get the door panel off? I've seen this asked in several other threads but never answered.

Well, there not aluminum, but I suppose we knew that. The look and feel is consistant with the rest of the interior. It doesn't look like they will peel or chip. The button material appears to be the same as the aluminum like material on the sides of the center console.

2. Do they glow when you turn on the lights?

Haven't seen them at night yet. Did the other switches glow? If not these won't either.

3. How did you manage to get the door panel off? I've seen this asked in several other threads but never answered.

This was real easy. You only remove the shiney part around the switch housing. Give it a little tug from the botton and off it comes, no screws.

Got these from Trussville Mazda (http://www.trussvillemazda.com)

Also bought [from Trussville] and installed strakes, exhaust finishers, aluminum door sill plates, wheel centers with rotary emblem, cassette player and red leather parking brake.

I feels like I've spent more on car accessories than I did on the car itself.:D Going to have to get a supercharger just to make up for all the extra weight:p

The driver and passenger [on the driver side] and the passenger [on the passenger side] window switches do in fact "glow" internally. This is in addition to the glow that shines down from above onto the mirror adjustments and door locks when you turn the headlights.

From what I've heard the switches have been withdrawn in Uk because the trim falls off(?).

Probably not true, thye just hate us here :) let us know how you get on.
