its a minor dent, but its a dent. and the paint is scraped off. i think, if the dent werent there, touchup paint could do its thing.

i was thinking of asking maaco to remove the dent, and i'd just use the touchup paint to paint it.

any suggestions as to what to do, what body shop, etc.

you cant really see the dent. i'll post another pic tomorrow morning. the dent is about 3-4" long, about 1.5"-2" wide, and about a 1/4" deep. paint scraps are obvious enough.

they are all full size pics.

sorry to hear about this -- whoever did it is a true piece of shit to hit a fine car like ours and run away. I'm going to guess soccer mom driving a minivan, H2, or Tahoe to transport their ONE child around.

People have no respect for anything these days, its sad.

here are pics of the dent. they also apparently got the fender before the wheel too. sucks. i went to maaco and they estimated $381 to take the fender off, take the dents out, and repaint it. unless any of you have a better idea or suggestions of elsewhere to go. 381 isnt so bad, not for my baby anyway. it still totally sucks. i mean.. who goes around and costs people $400 out of the blue like that. argh. :/

Someone smacked my driver side rear fender (no note...freaking bastards) and took away some paint... All before I made my first payment.

I guess you guys weren't kidding about the Sunlight Silver Curse...

My brother (Brilliant_06) used touch up paint on mine, and it actually looks way better than it originally did. I'll have to take new pics of it. Once the paint dried for a couple of days, it blended into the rest of it pretty well.

Both Mazda dealerships in town gave me estimates of $900-$1300 to fix it. Negative.

Other fun stuff to happen (before first payment): salesman broke the sun visor and shorted the stereo before I even drove it off the lot (glad it was him, not me); on my first major out of town trip, there was a shift delay, so I got to leave it at a (FANTASTIC) dealer 3 hours away. For two weeks. I love my car, but that curse thing sucks.

Sorry your car was hit... I totally feel you on that horrible feeling of your stomach dropping through the floor when you walk out and realize something happened.

I just had mine clipped too, with no note. Some turtle wax scratch remover cleared it up quite well, but dents have to be taken out by someone with the right equipment. :(

Happenned to me too, passenger fender. heavy dent in the fender, and a scratch on the bumper. Cost me a corner lens too.

Took it to a repair shop and they quoted me 900.

i just ordered a set of accolade fenders instead :)

I'd avoid Maaco. Over the years I've only heard bad things about them.

I bet if you get estimates from a few local body shops you can get a much better repair for not a lot more money. Just my 2¢.

I had a huge dent in my rear fender which was estimated by bodyshops at 1300 bucks. There was no damage to the paint....so I just counted it as something I would have to drive around with.

A paintless dent guy was working on a car as I was passing, and I asked him to look at the dent. He did the job, (not 100% perfect, but definately 96-97%)....did it for 150 along with a number of other various door dings around the car.
