I have a pair of 225/45/18 Kumho ecstas the rear of my car that I'm pretty happy with. They are pretty new. I want to replace the oem fronts with the same tires, but I'm thinking about pushing the ecstas up to the front and going with a wider version in the back (245/40/18). Does anyone have a rear shot of an 8 with tires of this dimension? I just want to see what it looks like. Any thoughts and comments about having stock size on the front and wider in the back? Do you think it's worth the extra $60 bucks? This wouldn't hurt my gas mileage would it?
Thanks!

if you want to drive south a bit you can see mine in person in milford, ct. here are a couple pictures of my kumhos at 245/40/18. keep in mind i'm sitting on 8.5" wide wheels but this will give you a general idea. and this should have been in the wheel forum, not the body kit section.

The 245/40/18 are 1 size taller than the stock 225/45/18 so make sure you don't have a clearance problem. Maybe consider a 245/35/18 (still 2 sizes wider but same height)

Don't have time to explain tire ratios and metric widths, but this statement it incorrect.
245 40 18 is wider and slightly shorter (lesser diamater) than a 225 45 18...
245 35 would be even shorter (more revolutions per mile)

Thanks man that's generous of you. I will probably going down to New Haven in the near future and I might take you up on that offer. Sorry about the misplaced thread.

does the speedometer read at the front or the back? I would just be changing the rear tires.

i am running 245/40/18 with 8.5" wheels with no rubbing or clearance issues and no fender rolling.
