i guess that's good. it makes for a more unique experience and i know i'm certainly happy with the quality and look of mine. of course it would be nice to get a good thread going with others. there have to be more out there.

You're missing a valvestem cap.
kwescott 05-15-2007, 03:42 PM not my ride....you can pm GHOST for info on his setup. 17'' Zigens.
chickenwafer 05-15-2007, 06:59 PM You're missing a valvestem cap.
I know. The PO put aluminum caps on there which, according to Mazda, cause rust on the TPMS sensor stems and can damage the unit, so I took them off. Haven't gotten around to new plastic caps.....yet

Those are really nice. Did you have to do any fender rolling? About what offsets could I expect to use without worry about fender rolling on 18" tires. Or is it only a concern with larger tires?
myriadshalaks 05-17-2007, 08:42 AM i'll post some pics in here of my +48 fno1r-c when i find the charger for my camera.

thank you. no fender rolling here at 38mm offset

what size are you running?
416to212 07-11-2007, 04:05 PM Do you guys have to use hubcentric rings?
BTW Nice thread. 5Zigen looks hot - a lot of their ads run the 8 nowadays.
myriadshalaks 07-11-2007, 04:16 PM mine are 18*8.5 on tein basics drop set at 1inch. yes, there's a hubcentric ring, unfortunately. that's a small plastic ring that the wheel sits on, right? it's small and almost unnecessary, but i put it on there.
i think they look sweet. the center cap says: try harder. heh, i love that.
CTrx8 07-11-2007, 08:26 PM okay, so my other post from a few hours ago isn't there anymore. in any case for 414to212 i have hubcentric rings.
and myriad, it might just be me or maybe it's because of the drop you have that i don't but the 10mm difference in offset between our offsets definitely makes a difference. i keep wanting to lower mine but am worried about rubbing with my +38 offset since i'm pretty close now.
myriadshalaks 07-11-2007, 08:58 PM i like the look of the lower offsets too, but i worry about performance. i figured the factory had a pretty good reason for the +50, so i wanted to stay close. i like em tucked under though too. classic performance.
i think you'd be fine with a drop. i actually had it all worked out because i was going to get the +38. They're more concave. Tight.
myriadshalaks 07-12-2007, 10:26 AM oh yeah, i have 3degrees negative camber too. so that makes it appear tucked a bit more. handles like a dream though.
CTrx8 08-23-2007, 05:50 PM any other 5zigen owners?

What suspension are you running?
CTrx8 08-24-2007, 10:40 PM 06carbon8 - can't say i agree with most of your car (fart can, big wing, etc.) but good to see that if i drop i won't be rubbing. i'm surprised b/c it looks pretty close as it is on mine without dropping it.

meh thanks for the opinion, i always appreciate critiscism (sp?) even if it isn't in my favor haha. I'm kinda glad you aren't "crazy" about it, cuz then your car would probably look like mine and life would be boring. I dropped mine as far as the tein basics would let me, and I've never rubbed, even with 1 in the backseat.

sorry, didn't mean to sound like i was knocking your choice of mods - just saying it's not for me. that's the whole point of changing up the car from stock - to add your own personal style.
06carbon8 08-25-2007, 02:56 PM no i didnt think you were. no hard feelings. everyone likes something diferent, thats what makes it fun.

They are VERY nice and grippy in dry weather, it's instant death in the rain  I would recommend these tires if you live mainly in a sunny climate like California.
06carbon8 08-26-2007, 01:29 AM alright thanks, that's what I was wondering.
Spinning Sushi 08-26-2007, 03:08 AM I actually like 06carbon8's car, I personally don't like the things on his mirrors but I like his spoiler, single (HKS?) exhaust and the carbon fiber actually goes well with the shinka red of his car. I pretty much like everything besides the signals on the mirrors.
qtwre 08-26-2007, 11:04 AM 06carbon8, what are those four things beside your rear license plate? Is that a second set of fog lights next to your factory fogs? Are the tow hooks functional?
06carbon8 08-26-2007, 12:04 PM 06carbon8, what are those four things beside your rear license plate? Is that a second set of fog lights next to your factory fogs? Are the tow hooks functional?
The lights by the plate are flush mount leds, as are the lights by the fogs and on the mirrors. The top set by the plate are blue, below them amber. In the front, they are both split blue/amber and on the mirrors one side is blue, one amber. I have them all because I'm the rescue captain on the local rescue squad and my car ends up on scene alot of the time. the tow hooks are the factory hooks, so i'm assuming they're functional. i dont plan on dragging it around to test it though haha. My friend had his oem ones on his s2k and i threw mine in because it's a joke, another friend with a gto always says track cars look stupid with the big tow hooks, so we threw ours in to bust his balls.
I'll post a few pics up later on today, so you guys know what I'm talking about with the lights.
the exhaust is just an 5Zigen muffler, with mandrel bent pipe from cat back and no resonator. I just used oem pipe diameter and welded it all up.
WreakLoosE 08-26-2007, 06:39 PM Lol. Rite now, I have some KYB shocks and some Tenabe Spings thats if for now. Im about to get the Tanabe anti roll bars.. I want to get the MS ft tower brace and rear tower bar if they make one.

I have the same tires on my 8. They work great in dry and wet no problems at all. not the best thing if you live where it snows or gets very cold.. but other than that... Great summer dry/wet tire.

Hi, Are these the sport engines in hyper black. I really like the look. How much do they weigh? Thanks, ken
qtwre 01-27-2008, 04:37 PM No they're not hyper black. They're just silver. I think the 5Zigen website says they weight 27lbs. Could be wrong.
boanjangnararmine 01-28-2008, 06:14 AM i'm looking to be a new 5zigen fn01r-c owner. Bronze on white what do you guys think? Does anyone else have bronze fn01r-c's on white?

Boost it 01-29-2008, 12:40 AM I am ordering the anodized silver Fn01r-c w/ 245/40/18 tomorrow for my yellow RX8, The tire shop is telling me that the +38 off set will rub the inside of the fenders when you turn hard anybody with this off set having this issue? I realize that the +48 are closer to the factory rims, but I sure like the way the +38 look in the above Photos.

i run 245 on 8.5" at +38 and i don't rub.
Tanaka826 01-29-2008, 10:30 AM thanks guys. They're 35 offsets all around. I didnt have any rubbing issue running 255/40r17 in the rear
Boost it 01-30-2008, 11:31 AM Ordered the anodized silver Fn01r-c with the 38 off set. Manufacturer specs say they way 20lbs but I hear it is closer to 21.5, anybody ever way there factory 18" wheels ?
boanjangnararmine 01-30-2008, 12:17 PM hey tanaka, i'm thinking about getting the same size as your rear but for the front as well.. so 17x10 +35 with 255/40/17 azenis rt615 all around. you said the rear has no rubbing problems, but what do you think about the front?
TrochoidMagic 01-31-2008, 05:01 AM hey tanaka, i'm thinking about getting the same size as your rear but for the front as well.. so 17x10 +35 with 255/40/17 azenis rt615 all around. you said the rear has no rubbing problems, but what do you think about the front?
boa, you may wanna be careful. i picked up 17x9.5 +38, but i'm running 275/40s.
they clear...but barely when i test fitted them. i'm not "that" lowered being on RB springs... and i have to drive conservatively when i put them on. so i don't think there is no-way in hell you'll clear them without modifications( like fender rolling) being i still have to consider that for sure, as a safety measure.
maybe you can take a look at them when i put them on for a test run for the saturday meet i have scheduled. you can see my plans with them then, and decide rather or not those wheels you had in mind are a hit or miss...
don't end up buying something if its useless to you, right?
if you have fitment questions...ask rishie (endless rotaries) who i picked up my rpf1's from... he knew my intentions and capabilities, and recommended me the "max" of what he thinks will work for the sizes i had specific in mind.
any other question, PM me.

I think you might have trouble getting that size and offset to work under the front fenders without issue. I have a set of 17x9 +35 FN01R-Cs with 255/40-17 Toyo RA-1s, and as you can see from these pictures, there is minimal room up front for an additional half inch of wheel:

FWIW, my car has Racing Beat springs and Koni shocks, and the front camber is set at maximum, since I use the car as a track car. More pictures in this thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=135313).
boanjangnararmine 02-01-2008, 12:55 AM sigh, no stores/vendors have 17x10 +35 fn01r-c's in stock at the moment. gonna have to order then and wait a few months =\..
anyone know any place that has them?
boanjangnararmine 02-01-2008, 12:30 PM maybe i'll just go with the 18x9.5 +38 all around on 255/40/18
anyone know if this will have the same concavity as the 17x10?
aliveoutofhabit 02-01-2008, 09:32 PM I just ordered 18x9.5 +35 fn01r-c's... I will be posting pics AS SOON as I get the wheels on the car.
18x9.5 +38 should be fairly concave, but not as much as the 17x10. Go with a +35 and it should be almost the same.
If I were you I'd hit up Rishie at AutoRnD (see vendor sub-forum). My friends have gone through him in the past and I just ordered mine through him.

Flashwing 02-02-2008, 09:04 AM Oh my god, this picture just made my wheel decision for me, f-in beautiful man!
Awesome! Thanks for the kind words. I was really into a more exotic wheel and was having a hard time finding a black w/ polished lip combo that worked. The FN01R-C wheel is common with various AZMC cars but a good friend of mine convinced me it would look totally different.
Great wheels, lightweight and easily avaliable to replace if you ever broke one. I've got a couple rough intersections with the lightrail construction that bang the hell out of my suspension and I've not had a problem.
Go get 'em!
altiain 02-02-2008, 04:29 PM 18x9.5 +38 should be fairly concave, but not as much as the 17x10. Go with a +35 and it should be almost the same.
Not necessarily. Look at Renesis SE3P's pictures above. The fronts are a 17"x9", +35mm. The rears are a 17"x10", +35mm. Same offset, one inch wider. One has very concave spokes, the other has nearly vertical spokes.
There is no guarantee that the 18"x9.5" wheels with have concave spokes. They may have straight spokes and a deeper hub, just like the +35mm 17"x9" wheels do. You might want to confirm what they look like with the vendor before they ship.

so yeah i just ordered the 18x9.5 +35 in bronze. It won't be as concave as the 17x10 but it will be slightly concave/almost vertical lol.
aliveoutofhabit 02-03-2008, 12:13 AM I was going off of what I saw on the 5zigen website. They have a few diagrams of the various sizes available...

do you have TPMS? i had the problem with one of mine but it was a slow leak. i tried swapping out the stems but that didn't fix it and i ended up buying a new TPMS for that wheel and it took care of the problem.

Forget the monster truck label, why didn't you wrap those Zigens in 245s? I still can't understand why Mazda doesn't make 245 the standard width tire for this vehicle.
philsbluerx8 02-06-2008, 06:25 PM yoo, i just put my new FNO1R-C black with chrome lip on my car. the size is 18x8.5 +38 with 245 all around. but when i took it for a ride, my front wheels or breaks had some discretely squeaking sound. weird. i am facing a lot weird things these days.

I prefer the stretched look. I will be going to 245/40 or 255/40 after I wear these out. This will look better once I'm dropped I'm sure.
I won't defend it till the ends of the earth though -- tt's not the ideal setup for performance and I know that... though it does handle and ride better than the stock RE040's. I don't track the car... it's street driven... so I rarely get to take the car to 10/10ths. Maybe 8/10ths max given the limited driving I do (average of about 16 miles per day... maybe).

Performance AND aesthetics---245s look meaner and more aggressive. I just ordered a set of black w/polished lip FN01R-C (should be here Monday!) and I'm already thinking about upgrading to 255 or 265s the next set of tires I need.

i just put on my 18x9.5 +35 fn01rc's. pics soon! the fronts clear the fenders perfectly but the rears rub on the black piece near toward the back of the car in the wheel well. i rolled the fenders and it still rubs so i'm pretty sure it's not rubbing the fender.
philsbluerx8 02-09-2008, 02:34 PM i know
my front are rubbing!!!but i dont know from where. i went to the place where the tires are mounted at. they just said my front-left tie rod is loosened. but the squeaking sound is from the right front one.i am still wondering what the problem is. i will let mazda check it!

boanjangnararmine 02-10-2008, 08:31 PM haha thanks! i really like the wheels as well. the rears rub a bit on bumps and driveways and stuff but i have my fenders rolled so i think its rubbing on the black plastic pieces.

the tires kelvin is running are falken rt-615, which is wider than regular street tires even with same size. if you put 255/40/18 regular street tires on these rims (18x9.5), it will have a more stretch look. another option is 265/35/18, that's the size i am running on 18x9.5 +35,

kelvin, you should find that plastic corner piece be shaved off a little bit already?

yeah i made this choice for now but i have not forgotten about the TE's. the 5zigen's will be easier to replace (cheaper) so they will be driven on track. the TE's will be my street wheels. i will most likely get 19"s for those ;]
boanjangnararmine 02-10-2008, 09:29 PM kelvin, you should find that plastic corner piece be shaved off a little bit already?
i actually looked at it and felt the plastic a little but i couldnt really see or notice any of it rubbing off. is it possible that it is rubbing at a different point?
sammytcl 02-10-2008, 09:47 PM if you can feel that corner piece being shaved off even just a little bit, that's it. you should have plenty of clearance other than that corner piece. by the way, you should go to the alignment shop and have it done. try this set-up when you are at the alignment shop: front camber -1.5, rear camber -2.0
you can also call sky for the alignment shop.
boanjangnararmine 02-10-2008, 10:42 PM all right i'll give sky a call.
thanks!
trainoffools 02-14-2008, 02:40 PM The tire shop did not replace the grommet on the TPMS valves, they fixed this this morning, now I have new tires and wheels and they hold air ""bonus" :)
Just got my FN01R-C wheels put on at a fairly big name tire shop and came out the next morning and all four tires were flat. I got my car back to the tire shop and told them about the grommet replacement mentioned on this board and after an hour of them working on it they said they couldn't get the grommets back on as the 5Zigen stem hole is smaller than the stock Mazda wheel's stem hole. Did you get aftermarket grommets and if so where did you get them?
They ended up taking out the tpms system until I can get this figured out. :banghead:

ca18detsilvia 05-06-2008, 12:31 PM when I mounted them I didn't have a scale handy. I did have some blitz 2 piece wheels before and they were a lot lighter. They prob aren't any heavier than the stock wheels by much if any but thats just by my personal feel picking up both wheels.

aliveoutofhabit 05-11-2008, 07:44 PM Those wheels are sexy (well... the rears anyway... front needs MOAR CONCAVE) but yeah they're heavy. A little heavier than the FN's in the same size.

Question: How much do the 18x9.5" wheels weigh?
Btw, your car looks hot...not feeling the wing (personal taste), but it does fit in well with the overall mods on your car. Car needs something on the front end to balance out the wing - like a carbon fiber lip or something. :)

Ha the wing was never really on there, It was just tapped to his trunk. It's a buddy's wing that was on an S2K, so he tapped it to his trunk because he was selling it.

What tires are those???
Anyone else with hyper blacks?
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 12:12 PM alright, fellas.
tomorrow i'm going to be ordering some 17x10 fn01's, front and back.
what should i be prepared for? i'm planning on using a 275/40/17 tire.
what lug nuts do you guys use and where can you get them? i'd like to have some black ones.
i'm assuming i'm going to need a good roll in the back.
CTrx8 02-12-2009, 12:51 PM alright, fellas.

which offset are you going to be running? as for lugs, i use spline lugs since they were included with the wheels by the shop i bought them from and they seem to work. i am pretty sure i've seen them in black too.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 12:56 PM i'd like to do 20 (or was it 25?), unless that's too extreme.
J8635621 02-12-2009, 01:14 PM 17x10 +25 is pretty extreme. That's .64 inches further out in the rear than most people go, and an inch more in the front.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 01:15 PM alright, i'll stick with that.
i like how tanaka's wheels look, and i believe that's what he has.
for you guys with 17's.... how much did you have to lower to get it to look right?
imput1234 02-12-2009, 01:25 PM 17x10 +25 is great fitment.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 01:27 PM is it going to make much of a difference between how much i have to roll between the 25 and 35?
i apologize for turning this into the will this fit thread... but, you know, $1000 is a lot of money to spend and i want to make sure i do this right.
J8635621 02-12-2009, 01:28 PM thanks guys. They're 35 offsets all around. I didnt have any rubbing issue running 255/40r17 in the rear
Just so you know that it isn't +25.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 01:35 PM also, where did you guys get yours, and how long did you wait for them?
i'm going to order them from fluid, but he's getting them from 5zigen from what i can tell. i'm just kind of nervous about having to wait months for them.
CTrx8 02-12-2009, 01:50 PM also, where did you guys get yours, and how long did you wait for them?
i'm going to order them from fluid, but he's getting them from 5zigen from what i can tell. i'm just kind of nervous about having to wait months for them.
i got them from a local place here. they matched what i could find online so it made sense for me - plus fluid wasn't a vendor back then or i'd have considered going that route. i think i had to wait about 6 weeks for mine to come in.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 01:58 PM hm. not too bad, i guess.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 02:08 PM 6 weeks give or take will give me some time to get some nice tires and suspension.
anyone wanna comment on lowering it?
J8635621 02-12-2009, 02:15 PM Tanaka has 17x10 +35 in the rear with a 255/40 but you want 275/40 with a +25? Also, his fronts are 17x9 not 17x10. I wish you luck if you really buy those. The tires you want have .5" less wheel gap. That might create a problem with rubbing.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 02:17 PM i'm leaning more towards 275/40 with a 35 offset now. still wanna go 17x10.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 02:34 PM ok, after reading through this thread more, maybe i should stick with this:
front:
17x9 35 offset with 255/40 tire
rear:
17x10 35 offset with 275/40 tire and a fender roll
huh? huh?
imput1234 02-12-2009, 03:15 PM You can run 17x10 +35 all around, it would look a LOT better. 275 is too much tire
or run a more aggressive setup like deedubs run 17x10+25 and run 255/40 instead of his /45 all around.
You'll clear easily with a roll/pull, and - camber
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 03:27 PM is 255 too much of a stretch considering how i drive the car?
the dragon is in my backyard. it's visited weekly. i can deal with the inconveniences of it (the car is driven once a week at most) but i just don't want it to affect the performance.
Big Money Pit 02-12-2009, 03:35 PM i guess i should also mention that i'm putting 615's on this car, which are a little wider than most tires of the same size anyway.
imput1234 02-12-2009, 04:07 PM 255 is fine.
tttp5 02-12-2009, 11:37 PM i like the concave look of the wheels but it looks like from all the pictures i've seen I need to have a minimum 9.5" wheel width do even have a slightly noticeable concave look, is this true?
if i run a more aggressive offset with a 9.5" rim will that increase the concave-ness of the wheel?
or are wheel concave-ness based on rim width?
TopGear8 02-12-2009, 11:44 PM ^The more aggressive your offset, the more concave you will have.

XDEEDUBBX 02-13-2009, 06:41 AM alright, fellas.
tomorrow i'm going to be ordering some 17x10 fn01's, front and back.
what should i be prepared for? i'm planning on using a 275/40/17 tire.
what lug nuts do you guys use and where can you get them? i'd like to have some black ones.
i'm assuming i'm going to need a good roll in the back.
depending on how low your dropped with 275's you will rub like crazy, you'll shred your sidewall to next week!
Big Money Pit 02-13-2009, 07:04 AM i'm PMing fluid right now to order these.
17x10 all around, 25 offset. i'll put 255/40 615's on them.
thanks guys!
imput1234 02-13-2009, 08:43 AM Make sure you roll/pull the fenders and the 1/4.
Big Money Pit 02-13-2009, 09:03 AM goin to the body shop later to ask 'em how much that's gonna run me.
is the car going to be drivable before i do this? i mean... can i even drive it up there?
Big Money Pit 02-13-2009, 09:33 AM oh, shit!
almost forgot.
what's all this i've been reading about the TPMS problem, and how do i avoid it?

Yeah, you will rub all that means it at certain times the tire will hit the fender and it'll feel weird.

ok, i can roll with duct tape. now what exactly do i do with it?
AntonToo 02-14-2009, 03:05 PM Just ordered FN01R-C 18X8.5 38 Hyper Black!!!
Was going to get 43 offset but this deal from discounttiredirect was too good to pass up
5Zigen 18X8.5 5-114.3 38HB
FN01R-C
Wheel Installation Kit (lugs)
Hub Centric Rings
Valve Stems
TOTAL $1047.00
I'll be the first metropolitan gray with those!
T-ReX-8 02-14-2009, 07:05 PM Fluid is a great place to buy them, I have been getting plenty of questions about them, go for the gold I say. I'll be rocking a new wheel soon so now I don't mind spilling the beans.
Fluid will give you the best service bar none, just wait till I get rid of mine until you get the exact same ones I have.
It was great talking with you Black Money Pit and I am glad you decided to go with Fluid. Just do the things I suggested and the wheels will fit fine.
For all thinking about going with a wide wheel lik I have I suggest COs. You'll need the heavier spring rate to save your tires around heavy turns even on the street. A few companies have good deals going on and I know Fluid has the Stance COs on sale right now. http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=166265
Another thing to note is sways will assist with body roll which will also help stiffen up the suspension, and keep the car from sagging and rubbing your wheels. But hey, like I always say "If you aren't rubbin', you aren't racin!

pdxhak 02-14-2009, 09:22 PM ok, i can roll with duct tape. now what exactly do i do with it?
It is electrical tape and you put a strip of it over the TPMS light :)
AntonToo 02-15-2009, 09:33 AM It is electrical tape and you put a strip of it over the TPMS light :)
c'mon - I'm wandering that too
Big Money Pit 02-15-2009, 06:54 PM yeah, i'd really like to know at the very least how to avoid flat tires.
J8635621 02-15-2009, 07:20 PM Why would you get flat tires? If TPMS doesn't work on the wheels, it doesn't mean you get flat tires. It just means the TPMS light is always on since you won't any TPMS. The tires still hold air. Check the air pressure of your tires every once and a while like you are supposed to anyways.
Big Money Pit 02-15-2009, 07:26 PM there was someone a few pages back who said he woke up the day after he had his wheels put on and had 3 flat tires. someone else, too.
maybe i'm mistaken...
but i don't really care about TPMS. ridiculous no-goodery is what it is in the first place.
T-ReX-8 02-16-2009, 01:17 AM The idea about the flats is the fact the TPMS have to go in a certain way, if not they leak.. leak= flat..

myriadshalaks 03-13-2009, 09:34 AM just got some new shoes. i traded in the hyperblacks for the flat blacks fno1r 18*8.5. i went with the +38 offset this time and the same drop and camber.
i got the nitto neo gen 245/40/18 to wrap them in. i like these tires though they were hard to balance. they're supposed to wear well even with negative camber, so we'll see. they're real grippy, and the sidewalls feel pretty stiff. they're getting good reviews, but i remain skeptical.
the hyperblacks were pretty, but these look mean. and going from +48 to +38 was definitely the right move. i could have probably gone to +35.
pics soon. wife broke the camera. women.
myriadshalaks 03-13-2009, 09:46 AM oh, if anyone wants to buy my old hyperblacks, let me know via pm. they have some curb rash on the edges, but other than that, they're mint. 18*8.5 +48. i'll make ya a great deal.
pics of them on my car, page 1.
cjkim 03-13-2009, 12:09 PM I'm running 8.5 +35, easily doable.
myriadshalaks 03-13-2009, 12:19 PM I'm running 8.5 +35, easily doable.

cjkim 03-13-2009, 12:22 PM yeah, i think that's what xeedub runs though he won't tell anyone.
i don't know what he's running, but that's not even close.
thebiggdaddy 03-13-2009, 08:56 PM Yeah, that is def. not close. He sold his rims to someone else. They're 17x10 with a 20 somethin offset.
Phish806 03-13-2009, 11:21 PM So if i want to run a 17x10 rim with a +35 offset in the rear with a 275/40/17 RT-615 tire. would i be good without rubbing at stock height. i know i will be good on the front because i am running a smaller rim and tire. just not sure weather to go with the 275 or 255 on the rear.
Big Money Pit 03-14-2009, 09:07 AM that's gonna rub.
i have 17x10 wheels (25 offset) and 245/45 tires, and i rub.
a lot.
Phish806 03-14-2009, 09:21 AM I thought somewhere in here and the will it fit thread that they said you can run that wide of wheel and tire in the back without issues. a +35 offset would also be 10MM farther in then a +25. also if the fenders were rolled would it be ok?
Big Money Pit 03-14-2009, 09:28 AM that was purely speculative on my part, but it just seems to me like it would since i have 17x10's. i'd go with 255/40 if i could do it all over again. what do you have in the front?
10mm won't make that much of a difference on a tire that big.
however, most of the guys in the WIF thread know monumentally more about this stuff than i do, and i don't want to steal their thunder.
i'd plan on rolling your fenders if i were you.
Big Money Pit 03-14-2009, 09:29 AM fwiw, i asked about using a 275 on this wheel a while beck before i bought them and someone told me it was just too much tire to cram in there, and now i see why.

WOW thats nutty! i gotta come by check that out!
myriadshalaks 03-22-2009, 08:19 AM the tpms will do that, but it's usually good for a swap or two. mazda wants them changed every time, but f that. they're expensive.

17x10 +25 245/45/17 nitto nt02....
you will rubb so a fender cut/ roll and an aggresive negative camber setup will be needed.
Phish806 04-01-2009, 07:42 AM I am gettin some 5ziegens mounted on friday with their lugs. The TPMS deal, i am not to worried about. I will prolly just use regular stems and no sensors. I already have hte CEL, DSC, "Swervy car" light, cruise main, and the cruise light on when i drive. Whats another light. Plus the COBB AP is in the near future so that should be able to remove a couple of those lights.

Rear driver side rim (thats paint layer coming off on it) :

My brother was telling me that these rims are soft, but I figured at this price they would still be more durable then the much cheaper rotas I've owned in the past that gave me no problem - guess this incident proved me wrong. Anyone know if they are DOT certified?
pdxhak 04-01-2009, 12:30 PM dam...that sucks!!
myriadshalaks 04-01-2009, 12:35 PM what's your offset? i have some +48s in hyperblack in the garage w/ no tires. i think one of them isn't curb rashed ... too bad. interested?

CTrx8 04-01-2009, 12:47 PM wow - i would not have expected to see that. i accidentally went over a curb with mine and they held up like champs. i thought for sure they would have damage but i took them off when i got home, measured everything, checked them for cracks, dents, etc. and nothing.
the scare and the bruise to my ego were the only damage. of course it would happen during a spring run with a bunch of other 8s but i swear it appeared out of nowhere.

Mine are 38 offset, but I'll keep your rims in mind.
I don't why they got damaged like that - I was going only about 55-60mph and my tires were inflated to solid 35...maybe I hit an uber-pothole, don't know.
The tires still sit on the rims fine so I'm thinking if I can't fix them I'll just ride on these and wait two months for ROTA Torques in 18x8.5 35mm offset HyperBlack

Aww c'mon, ya can't do that to such a rare color combo. If it was bronze/black/grey/gunmetal maybe, but not the redline/time attacks lol. But on a serious note people can do whatever they want wit em when they go bye bye. I have a few people who have dibs through pms from like months ago (wtf people.. lol) but if they fall through is partout tiiiiime! :)

Oh no I agree with you, I noticed that as well. The Fns are pretty comon wheels. similar to the TE37s and the RPF1s (well maybe not THAT played out.. lol)
