Can anyone give a comparison between the BOSE set up in the RX8 and the standard set up in the RX-7?

I currently have an Alpine CD deck (40wX4) in an RX-7 (3rd gen.) with no rear seats so a couple of speakers beside the rear bins, 1 in each door and 1 in the centre of the dash. It is not impressive!

Am hoping the BOSE will give somewhat more excitement?

The bose system will be better than that, by a fair hike. Just don't expect the sound of a high specification custom install.

I'd rate it a long way above average, but also a long way from the best you could put in an 8.

the bose is good but not the best or as good as it could be
it has no bass and I listen to rap so I added 2 subs
