Considering that it's by far the lowest priced car they've got in there (and look what else they've lumped in there!), this is pretty high praise, imo.

"The RX-8 fits like a glove, winds up to the redline fast, loves quick shifts, and never loses its head in unpredictable situations (yes, there were a few). It inspires bad-girl behavior and rewards it with sure-footedness. "

"In fact, I just kept wanting to play with it, which says something when I had the pick of the litter sitting in my driveway. "

Fathoming that last comment with what else he had to play with absolutely boggles the mind!!!! :D :D WOW WOW! We are all so lucky! Here's a guy that's driving fun machines I couldn't even afford the carpets in and HE wants to drive OUR CAR!

Good find Elara :)

Hey guys, "he" is a "she"...Sue Callaway, wife of Reeves Callaway. Given that association, this is high praise indeed. She gives the 8 its due, contrary to all the trolls on this Forum.

Funny to see Sue being the first person I've seen to mention Mazdaspeed. I wonder if she has lurked in this forum or visited rotarynews.com....

Let's just say that in addition to being a little more informed, she "might" have a slight bias. I think she also used to work for Ford.

Ah... it is clear now :)
No wonder her last name sounds familiar!

Although to be fair Callaway does turbo's for everything under the sun practically.

Sue Callaway's bio info, from the article:

Sue Callaway, a former FORTUNE editor, was most recently the general manager of Jaguar Cars U.S. and prior to that was director of marketing for Ford's Premiere Automotive Group (Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and, at the time, Lincoln). Her husband, Reeves Callaway, is the founder of Callaway Cars Inc., an advanced engineering firm that produces specialty vehicles in association with many OEMs.

By the way, Ortega Highway (where she had fun flogging her 8) is very convenient to Sevenstock for those attending. It's a worthy road when not overrun with cruising Harleys and tourists.
