so i've searched for it but cant find anything!

So i just want to get rid of the ulgy stock box and put just a pipe with a good fillter on it and i'm a machinist so i can make an adapter for the MAF and IAT is this worth my time or should i just pay the stupid prices for a real one?

I think you've kind of answered your own question. Being a machinist may not be sufficient to provide you all that is required to create this piece. A lot of science, thought and testing go into the quality units that are available (Notice I said the quality ones).

By the way, the O2 sensor doesn't go on the intake :)

I agree, the good ones are very good, (even the stocker is a fine piece), and many are terrible.

The most essential criterion is that the air comes thru that hole from in front of the rad,(or another cold air source) any intake that sucks hot air out of the engine compartment is, by definition, a failure.
