www.boomerangtracking.com offers Boomerang2 which is a wireless-based tracking device used to track stolen vehicles and provides instant theft notification. This system utilizes the cellphone cells wireless network as opposed to GPS technology. From what the compagny claims, stolen vehicles fitted with their system can be located everywhere, even if they are inside buildings, in shipping containers or underground etc.

I'm going to get it done for $500 CDN in markham. I want to know if anyone else is going to install the system. We can get a group buy if we get enough cars involved.

Check out the website and let me know if any of you are interested.

Cheers

Pete

I have a boomerang on my car. Had it on my passat before that as well as it was manditory by my insurance company. It was quite a bit cheaper then 500$ when i got it... about 260$ and 10$ a month after that.

Pete is talking about the Boomerang 2 which has extra features over the original Boomerang. From what I've seen $500 is a pretty good price. Most places are quoting $600 with others more llke $549.

Pete, I'm interested. What happened to the installation in Oakville? How did it get moved to Markham? Oakville is much better for me.

I'm picking up my car Saturday. Do we all have to go together or what? When are you looking at going? Where in Markham is this place and what are their service hours? Where was the place in Oakville? Do they know that we're all going to Markham for $499? Any chance he'd change his mind.? Oakville is much more convenient for me.

Ok ....

The place in Oakville is not avalible anymore. I do have 2 places to have the boom2 installed.

one place is on college st, and one is in markham.

the place on college is asking for about 475 each if we have a group of three. It's going to be a 1 hour install.

the place in markham is asking about 499 each. But they do the installs for merecedes. These people take the 2 hours to install and I think i'd trust them more.

But nevertheless, if anyone is interested. You can call me for a setup date to install the Boom2 on your vehicle. PM me for my number.

I'm an Ontario driver, and my insurance company is State Farm. They dont' offer any discounts for installing a Boomerang/2 device, and they tell me no one else in Ontario offers a discount either. I guess Ontario drivers are just installing this for peace of mind? I would consider it, but with no insurance benefits, it's a hard sell for me :(

How hard would it be for a thief to disable the boomerang?
