Early october I am getting it done AfroCreame 09-17-2003, 01:47 AM Personally I would leave the badge in the front on..might look a little bland without anything on. I wonder if the back badges simply use double sided tape or actually holes/studs? If it's just tape a good 1 foot of fishing line and a hair dryer should do the trick. Keep us posted! brothervoodoo 09-17-2003, 10:08 AM If you have the rotary accents then it won't look bland. mikeb 09-17-2003, 12:12 PM they all use posts except for the rx8 emblem in the back AfroCreame 09-17-2003, 03:22 PM Just a 5 min job... I'am starting to agree...totally badgeless would look sweet. I stated that I wanted to take it off and asked how, the sales staff stated that rubing alchol would break down the glue and would not hurt the paint. Has anyone thought to try this? mikeb 10-04-2003, 01:28 PM great avatar that will work on what the dealer put on your car but not for the mazda badges because they have posts under them Twin 8s! 10-04-2003, 03:12 PM So NO issue with rubbing alchol... Well I want to do this... but I do not want to damage paint. Will look for a spot to test and then report back if all works. Thanks Choppy 12-10-2003, 04:56 PM Why you people want to debadge the car? Not good enough for you? Or do you like people asking you what kind of car is that? I see it all the time on the 220Ci Bmw with m3 wheels & bodykit. Debadged so people think its a M3. leave the car as is.. the rx8 should be something proud of not ripped off. Just my two cents of course :) Phillip zoom44 12-10-2003, 05:20 PM Originally posted by Twin 8s! So NO issue with rubbing alchol... Well I want to do this... but I do not want to damage paint. Thanks Twins that was the first thing i did when i got my car- remove the dealer emblem. a little heat from a hair dryer and it caame right off. if it gives you any trouble run some fishing line behind it and it will come off. any residual glue will just wipe/rub off Jag 12-10-2003, 05:58 PM I'd like to change the Mazda emblems to the Efini emblems, I wonder if they'll fit the RX-8 or if they only fit on the RX-7, anyone know? If not I'd definately go for the debadged look, makes it look a lot cleaner. http://66.216.67.51/images/products/accessories/efinibadgered.jpg brothervoodoo 12-10-2003, 08:04 PM I've gotten a couple estimates, still seems pretty steep just to fill the holes and repaint the bumper and trunk. Got quoted $750, $800 and $1200. If I could find somebody that will do a professional job for $500, I would. Anybody get good quotes within the SF Bay Area? Twin 8s! 12-10-2003, 09:44 PM I am not upset with the Mazda emblems.... but the dealer crap has got to go. Why should I give them free advertising. CCJ 12-11-2003, 01:55 AM Zoom - Did youhave the rest of the car debadged? Have ya found anyone here in Stumptown that will do the work? XeRo 12-11-2003, 12:36 PM I'm debadging the Mazda emblems only to put Type-R badges on....LOL...hehehe oh yeh..and can't forget the VTEC also... AvitalBlue8 12-14-2003, 06:04 AM /agree Jag, But i would change the red backround to match the winning blue since my car is blue and the red and blue i think would clash. |
