Here's a video I found of an RX-8 with an onboard camera, going toe to toe with an RX-7. It's very interesting to see how these two are compared on the track. Check it out....

I noticed the RX8 seem to catch up with the 7 around corners, but the 7 gained some distance on the straights...

just as I would expect, from reading everything in the past 2 months.

even though it didn't take the 7 it still took all those other cars...

Hmn, that 8 did pretty good.

It passed:

nissian sentra (not the spec v SE-R)
BMW 3-series (don't know which one)
nissian 300zx
nissian 200sx

although those cars r not very fast, the 8 caught up 7 on the corners.

Seems to me the traffic on the course helped keep the RX-7 in the shot.....otherwise....zoom zoom....the 7 wins BIG

Kinda fun to watch though!

English: I agree with you. Aside from what looked like a Celica GT that was honestly pased, the other cars seemed to be dogging it. As to the 7, it was being conservative with the traffic. You could see it pull away on the straightaway.

Really Cool!!!! The driver really digs into the corners...listening to the tires and the engine rev is neatto....My wrist hurts just from watching the wheel spin back on that last corner......:eek:

Yea. RX8 totally has no chance against the 7. Mazda never meant to make RX8 faster than RX7 though.

And another. This time the RX-8 completely blows by an RX-7. I think the RX-7 was probably on a warm up lap and wasn't racing with the RX-8....
