I would just save yourself the hassle and use the 3.99 touch-up kits Trussville offers. Keeps the insurance down if you claimed it too.

but my body shop said it will be very noticble and the car is only 3 weeks old so im working to pay off the bill. Also there is no way i put it through my insurance. i live in nj im on my moms insurance and i pay 4000.00 a year with no points or accidents.so something this small its cheaper to pay for it out of pocket than go through insurance.

I wouldn't use the touch up either. Post pics before and after if you can, I want to know who is going to match your paint

I would try the touch up first! By the way, I am a south jersey boy myself, some folks would call me a "piney". And our insurance rates sure do SUCK!! Everyone should be happy if they do not drive here!!

ARRRGGGHHH! Rock Chips!

I can safely admit I suck at painting...fences...houses...no problem. Can't do CARS! But, I got my first rock chip today! So, does anyone have any tips on how to make it look semi professional with going to professionals? Anything would be very, very helpful.

Thanks!

S while ago, someone posted detailed instructions for the technique mikeb mentioned. You might try searching the forum for "touch-up" and "toothpick".

my check engine light came on about 3 weeks ago. Dont worry too much it may be something simple. It probably just needs to be reset

I'm pulling the trigger....got my appointment for tomorrow to have Xpel put on the hood! I'm a lousy painter! I think a very very fine brush would work better.....toothpick didn't seem to take very well. Will try again...

Had to cancel my appoint today to get the Xpel on. Can you believe work has to come first?!!?

I will post pics of the process and after photos next week.
