RX8FanMan 09-12-2003, 10:39 PM why did you have your wheels off? did you get new tires or something?
RX8Lover 09-12-2003, 11:33 PM you need to take a class in photography. Plus you need to get a decent camera. Your angles do the car no justice, and you shouldn't bother taking photos at night with the camera you have.
And I agree....why the heck was your car JACKED UP?

Come On. The guy loves his car and took pictures of it. He's got a great car why rag him about his camera or his skills.
eclps0,
Nice sot of your car on Broadway.
and .... What are you doing to your car?

Uncalled for and nasty. Was there some reason you decided to post this crap? Did he somehow hurt your feelings with his pictures? In the future, think before you post.

English 09-14-2003, 08:29 PM Give the guy a brake.....HA HA HA....No really...take a bit of time, and explain why your posting a picture of your car with newspapers on it.....(it looks kinda dumb without commentary)
Take a couple of photos and pick a couple of good ones to post....that's the beauty of digi-photography---editing out the crap. I'd like to see NICE pics of the car in NICE settings...so lets get to it.....say cheese! :D

Sorry dont want to be an ass but im going to school for motion graphics for movies ect .Not photography. Second i had a kodac disposable not high grade photograhic equiment. Third i had to paint to make the brakes look good.

Also thanks to everyone for defending me whil i was away. Thanks
RX8Lover 09-15-2003, 09:48 AM to be honest, your only good shot is the side view of the car in the daytime with the wheels ON. There seems to be no point in taking a photo of your jacked up car with the wheels off so you could paint your brakes?
Any front or 3/4 shots should have it so your front wheels are turned in the right direction. All shots you showed have the tread showing, which isn't very pleasing to the eye.
Please don't take it the wrong way, just some advice for the next time you upload photos. And please use something better than a disposable camera.

Good way to encourage young rx fans. For gods sake man, give the kid a break? That is just mean!
eclps0 09-15-2003, 10:05 AM well this is the only camera i had so what does it matter. If i had a disposable camera or a pricey 300-1000 camera. i Didnt post the pic to get critisied of what camera i used or angles. Also dont tell me not take a pic of certain angles ect I live in america its called freedom i can take pics of anything that i want.
klegg 09-15-2003, 10:06 AM Amen brother! Do n ot screw with Jersey !
brothervoodoo 09-15-2003, 10:10 AM This post was thoroughly enjoyable, thanks to all who contributed. What a good chuckle I had this morning. :p :D
eclps0, maybe you deserved some of that lashback but not all. In the future be more clear in your postings and provide detail on what you are talking about. I can see why people would get bent out of shape when you provide hardly any information and then a "deceptive" sideways picture of yoru brake assembly. ;)
mikeb 09-15-2003, 07:41 PM please post pics when youre done with brake painting
Irish_in_a_RX8 09-16-2003, 10:28 AM dear me, always some kind of folk feel they have to make some kind of comment , must be great being perfect.
What paint to you use for the calipers. G2 is very good.
Worzel 09-16-2003, 11:29 AM RX8Lover has a history of being a rude and abusive fool. Check out this (http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3806&highlight=convertible) thread to see a similar attack. If someone has been bothered to post a few images on a free forum (in the sense that it costs us nothing) then HOW DARE any of you criticise their technique. I thought the images were fine and the one of New York at night particularly so if you pay attention and spot the 350Z in the top left background. It makes a nice point (if by accident). Anyone who has followed the threads on this forum regarding brakes discs would have known precisely why the wheels were off the car.
RX8Lover you're an idiot and brothervoodoo you're not much better!

Wow, that thread you attached has me commenting once, and to be honest I stand by my words on how it was a lousy photoshop. Sorry you can't take criticism.
As for this guy's photos, you can't honestly tell me that the night shot is any good. you can hardly make out ANYTHING in the photo. Look, I know night shots are hard to take, but when they come out like that one, you shouldn't bother posting it.
Oh, and Worzel, bite me.

i think that's the chrysler crossfire. not tryin to make you look dumb, just correcting so don't take this personally.
asparapani 09-16-2003, 11:28 PM Hey RX8LOVER, chillax man. The kid just took some photos of his brand new car. He's excited! He's 19 and he has an RX-8! WTF is wrong with him taking amatuer photo's? I wasn't aware that this was a photo magazine web site? Geeeez...
RX8Lover 09-17-2003, 05:59 AM this forum is FLOODED with stock RX-8 photos. The only reason people are geteting on my case is because I think he could have done a better job with his choice when he posted. Taking a close up of your brakes with (what I assume) are UNPAINTED calipers, it seems silly to me.

No, the only reason people are getting on your case is because you acted like a jerk for absolutely no reason. You didn't say
"Hey, could we get a close-up of your brakes with the unpainted calipers?" you said "you need to take a class in photography. Plus you need to get a decent camera. Your angles do the car no justice, and you shouldn't bother taking photos at night with the camera you have."
Maybe you weren't trying to be a jerk, but that's how you came across.
If I see any more of this crap, the thread gets closed (sorry eclps0).
said7 09-17-2003, 07:55 AM Geez you think if enough people would post that your being a jerk you'd get the point. LEarn some humility, stop and realize your the one being an ass.
This isnt a photography forum.

If you have kids, god help them!
Remeber what my pa always said: judge people as you would be judged.
See also, the golden rule!
RX8Lover 09-17-2003, 08:39 AM you people are amazing. you make it sound like i said something like "go kill yourself - your photos could kill a newborn baby since they are so bad".
I merely said that he needs a half-way decent camera if he's gonna take photos and post them here.
Eveyone needs to just back off already.
sixspeed 09-17-2003, 09:50 AM RX8Lover,
You need to take a class in etiquette, politeness and general human decency. Plus you need to learn how to apply that in all your day-to-day matters, including time spent conversing on Internet Forums.
Your comments are rude, agressive and unjustified. You shouldn't bother posting here again until you learn how to behave like a decent human being.

Cheers for the pics eclps0. Even though you didn't post a reason for your wheels being off, it didn't take long to work out why, though a pic of the finished painted caliper wouldn't have been a bad idea ;)

Lucozade 09-17-2003, 10:13 AM I second everybody elses thought on the rudeness of RX8lover, that's not fair man.
Oh and thanks for taking the time to post the pics.
The more the better.
RX8Lover - please readjust your rudeness filter before posting anymore. Oh and sometimes it's better to take things on the chin a bit - people tend to get on with each other a whole lot easier.
klegg 09-17-2003, 10:22 AM It was all the worse because it was aimed at a kid, who is really in to our car!! We need more like him to support the community!

I have to take off the wheel to get a good pic well. Well maybe it wont have rx8lovers skill with pic:D
Iim a major in special effects for movies not photography so i can care less how the pic comes in as long as its clear and i cann see the car. Also on a another note I love this car once u go zoom zoom u dont go back i was just trying to show everyone the pics of my car.Not to get critized beacuse of the camera i used.

As I have never seen any picture of the shock/spring running through the A arm, I thought it was pretty cool, if sideways.
Oh, also, 8lover, since you are a self-prescribed photo f'ing master, why not take the night photo, render it beautiful and repost it?
Better yet, why not kill this hole thread?

Not newborn babies. Kittens. You directly implied that his pictures were killing kittens. And kittens are adorable.
Seriously, though, I'm surprised no one noticed that the guy posting the pics, eclps0 AKA General Jew, is the 19-year old kid who first got flak for upgrading his Mitsu Eclipse to an Rx8 at age 19, and then later told us how some kids at school want to demolish his car (with him in it) and he may need to put the car in hiding until he goes off to college.
eclps0, you're maybe an alright guy, but on this message board you've demonstrated an uncanny talent for getting under people's skin. Maybe it's undeserved, but still... there it is.
eclps0 09-20-2003, 04:24 AM I wasn't being rude or immature its just PICS for people that want to see. I wont say there names but some people on this board should really look in the mirror and grow up already its funny a 19 year old kid acting more mature then a 15-40 year old. Also if that person doesn't like my PICS then stop clicking on the link to the thread. Think about it u might try to put me down but I can careless what some people on this board say to offend me or mock me or the PICS I take. I just laugh about it because the person that keeps making the rude and childish comments is acting like there in high school.
Well, I guess there will always be some high school bullshit I just didn't expect it here on this forum.
Also to everyone that stood up for me thank you I highly appreciate it.

what exactly is "getting under peoples skin?" the fact that he is 19, or that he loves the car, or maybe it is his grammer? I do not get it. The kid (actually young man) is proud of his car, and wants to share on a forum were people are supposed to want the same thing! I have not read one post from him that is nasty or trollish in the least. On the countrary, he is right with at LEAST one thing: people need to look at themselves.
like my pa always said, do not throw rocks if you live in a glass house.
If more kids like him were encouraged to follow healthy productive interests, instead of taking a load of crap for the sin of wanting to share and belong, then just maybe the world would be a better place. End of sermon.
