my rx-8 with a K&N drop in air filter video reving

ok everytime i go to search for video of what it owuld sound like with just the video i get really bad ones mostly taken with a digital camera where the sound distorts or even worse a cellphone camera... hell we even had one with rap music

how the hell am i supposed to hear anything when you got 50 cent saying its a hard life driving his lambo and low notes going off?

ok anyways i created this video for others to enjoy a clear sound of what exactly does the car sound like with just the air filter upon making this video the misfire CEL popped up

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgurGKEuPWY

car is a stock 2004 GT automatic with just the drop in filter outside conditions are -11 celcius and i just drove around for 20 minutes prior to making the video

i hope this video helps on decisions for intakes and noise, i selected the drop in because i didn't want to ruin the rotary sound with a cone filter sounding like a honda civic

I haven't been on here for a long long time, but after watching that video, it reminded me of how my 88 rx7 sounded like with the K&N intake kit, but less throaty

Did it change the sound?

I thought it sounded the same when I put mine in.

The Apexi cone filter modded into the stock box sounds more throaty and gives an improvement over the K&N flat filter. But it takes more time to do.

K&N drop in made no sound difference to me either. Maybe so for the 4ATs since they have no VFAD.

Put one in my 2004 MT. Didnt notice any change whatsoever in sound or performance. It's just a filter....

Bet you guys never walked the line and put a special order Purelator air filter in. Well I did and put it on a dyno afterwards and got 6 more horses at the wheels.

Sounds like I'm full of **** right? Ha ha.

taking the nastiness out of the thread. If you don't have anything polite to say, don't say it.

Thanks for the video. To me it sounds like it has a bit more grunt.

Why were you eating potato chips?

And it sounds stock to me...sorry. If you want us to hear the intake...why'd you record from the exhaust?
