My brakes are squealing and I have taken a look at the TSB's on the Mazda Rosenthal website. http://www.finishlineperformance.com/rx8/bulletins_index.html

They recommend that the brakes be treated with products rather than replaced entirely?

I ask because some people have had their pads replaced entirely with a 'new' pad that results in less brake dust.

I have more brake dust than nuclear fallout and wouldn't mind having shinier rims.

But most importantly, i just want them to stop squealing.

Then go to the dealer and ask them to perform the TSB? Wanting new pads is a different issue.

Actually, I just read that TSB and its different from the one I first read. They are now including an anti-vibration shim when doing this TSB. Its a pity we cant access the Aussie TSBs to see if they are the same.

My brake pads were squealing and have been fixed by honing a slight champour on the leading edge of the pad. Now it all gone. I think the WD got sick of me complaining about them...when he did that he also cleaned all brakes and made sure everything else was ok. Me lucky to have a live in race mechanic....don't go near the dealers and the car is in great shape....if I didn't have this I would take it back and ask them to sort it.....but regrettably they took the asbestos out of the pads a while back which = more dust and more noise.... :nono: Bring back the asbestos and all your problems would be solved :hahano:
