I think that there are some RX-7 FD and RX-8 owners here !
So can someone put RX-8 wheels on a FD and take some
pictures please ? Just to see how the car looks like...

Thank you !

PS : excuse my poor english...

PS : excuse my poor english... Why would you put Rx8 wheels on an FD Rx7? The stock Rx8 wheels are narrower than the stock FD wheels? My biggest complaint of the Rx8 is how skinny the stock wheels/tires are. A 3000-pound car needs 9-inch wides all around with 255/40-18s, if you're going to carve corners like the Rx8 was eningeered to do, especially if you're carrying a full compliment of occupants (four full-sized adults)!

actually, they are the same width...16X8(FD) and 18X8(RX8). At least that is what the books say. The same width in tire as well...225.

as soon as the RE-040s are worn, SO-3s are going on the 8.

and i was thinking about putting the stock 8 wheels on my FD as well. but the wheels won't look right, because the FD's shape is so organic, while the 8's is more angular.

santino Japan spec Type RS and Spirit R have 8 and 8.5 x 17 fr/rr...You'd need to run shorter tire sizes on the Rx8 wheels to stay within the FD's stock overall tire diameter of 25 inches (Rx8's is 26 inches). FWIW, I agree the Rx8 wheels wouldn't look right on the FD Rx7. Most people agree, the 11-year-old FD Rx7 has a better looking shape than the brand new Rx8's shape

for me, the 8 stands out on its own. I love the way the car looks. Seeing both the 8 and the FD side by side in the garage makes me appreciate both cars for what each of them are. One is a comfy GT (8) and the other is a sports car in its purest form (FD). I don't feel fair comparing the 2 to each other. i am just glad i have both in the stable.

take care...see you guys at 7 stock(?)

Because he posted the exact same IMG links I did. You, in the mean time, didnt bother to sign up to the rx7forum (takes 1 minute), hence you still cant see the pics.

hope that helps :p

* I think it looks really good :D
Minimal handling improvement consider the width is the same but still 18's look better then 16's.
* I wouldn't pay more then $600 though. I don't know what these guys are smokin trying to sell them for $1500!
* Try and trade them in to the dealer or a wheel shop and see if they don't offer you $400. They will tell you the only reason they would purchase them is to have them chromed. In which case if you wanted to chrome your wheels they would just swap you and there is no wait. :o
