View Full Version : #1 Ohio State v. #2 Michigan
success07 11-12-2006, 04:40 PM Anyone going to the game from here (the forum members)?
I live in Columbus and found tix for $500 ea. 'C' deck 15 yard line. Haven't purchased them yet but am strongly considering it. Most of the tix available are double and triple that price. Any other tix out there floating around?
Maybe we could all meet up if there are some folks going. If you haven't experienced an OSU/ UM game you are in for a real treat. It is absolute insanity.
Just putting out the feelers.
Go Bucks!
moete87 11-12-2006, 07:19 PM Hey, HUGE OSU fan here!!!!! I might be coming up to cbus to party with some friends that go to osu. Its not definite yet, but I will let you know.
OSU # 1
alnielsen 11-12-2006, 08:17 PM I'm a Michigan fan, but I think this will be, unfortunately, another OSU win. I will be watching from home.
N rider89 11-12-2006, 11:02 PM i say go Michigan!!!!
but seriously tickets are around like $1500. one of my good friends is the pitcher for the osu softball team and ive been talking trash to her the whole year.
i have a sneeky plan if michigan loses
kellybrf 11-13-2006, 01:05 AM tickets have dropped drastically, that doesnt sound like a bad price but for c deck you might be able to do better. dont have the money to spend, but if you need a date im free ;)
RA-Eight 11-13-2006, 09:30 AM Oh my, $500 is pretty darn good. I'd jump on that , if you can find out the authenticity of the tickets.
GO BUCKS!
itr78 11-13-2006, 09:35 AM $500 sounds pretty cheap. Just make sure the tickets are legit.
Go BLUE.
i'll be watching the game somewhere in A2
Red Devil 11-13-2006, 10:38 AM Been a huge Michigan fan my whole life. Would love to go to the game but don't have the cash to throw around for that right now.
Since it's at OSU, and Carr hasn't been great against Tressle, I'm just hoping for a good close game.
Al, wanna meet at the bar to watch the game?

Al, wanna meet at the bar to watch the game?Sounds good, if I don't decide to go to my mothers house for the weekend.
success07 11-15-2006, 02:12 PM Well, I bought the tix after all.
I keep thinking that could have paid for shocks and sways or something for the car.
What a horrible dilema to have = car v. game.
Lets hope for the best!!!
GO BUCKS!!!!
PhreakdOut 11-15-2006, 07:38 PM I'll be there in Spirit. I'm planning to take the HD Projector to my neighbor's house and watch this in life-size.
Hopefully the Wolverines can pull it off. We're all pretty nervous up here. Either way, it'll be the game of the year.
Go Blue!
RiX-8 11-15-2006, 08:06 PM $500 sounds pretty cheap. Just make sure the tickets are legit.
Go BLUE.
i'll be watching the game somewhere in A2
$0.00 Warm house, Free beer, 55" Widescreen HD :ylsuper:
RiX-8 11-15-2006, 08:09 PM Badger fan here, but it should be a good game, either way another big ten team will have 1 loss. I think Michigan will win.
N rider89 11-15-2006, 08:16 PM dude whos in for trying to get some ohio state players in trouble for selling ticket?
after the game of course
GO BLUE!!!
success07 11-16-2006, 12:18 PM For all you watching on HD, I'll be the one wearing red. Ha! I'll wave to give props to my RX-8 homies!

RA-Eight 11-16-2006, 09:43 PM Haha! I'll look for you!
GO BUCKS!
Morgan 11-16-2006, 10:29 PM Um, i hope Ohio states looses...and so does everyone else BUT UF, then we win. yay! lol
Red Devil 11-17-2006, 09:41 AM Um, i hope Ohio states looses...and so does everyone else BUT UF, then we win. yay! lol
Oh Lord...a UF fan. Coming from an FSU family all I can say is - please take it easy on us in two weeks.
RA-Eight 11-17-2006, 09:53 AM Haha, there's some good reasoning there. Florida still has a chance. If USC loses to Notre Dame, and Florida wins out of their conference. Although I do want to see OSU vs. USC for the National Championship.

Towlie 11-18-2006, 08:42 PM ohhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaa OH wins :) pretty good game i must say, i think its time we look for a new center, one who can hike the ball correctly would be nice.
RA-Eight 11-18-2006, 08:45 PM I-O!
Beautiful! It doesn't matter who we play Jan. 8th, the championship title game was just decided.
moete87 11-19-2006, 09:30 PM HELL YEAH!!!!! OSU #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great game!!
success07 11-19-2006, 10:02 PM I can't even talk today. My voice is gone.
BTW, I was upgraded to 23AA Row 2 for the game. OH YEAH!!
Two rows behind the Bucks. Absolutely amazing!
No rematch. UM had their chance. We're moving on. It's either: UF, Ark or USC.
Ra,
I'd like to see USC also but everyone thinks the SEC is the best conference in the land so I say bring on the SEC champ.
GO BUCKS!!!
moete87 11-20-2006, 12:21 AM ^~~~~ I def agree with everything!!!
N rider89 11-20-2006, 03:42 AM yeah it was a great game and i would rather see ohio play another for the ship
RA-Eight 11-20-2006, 12:59 PM I'd like to see USC also but everyone thinks the SEC is the best conference in the land so I say bring on the SEC champ.
GO BUCKS!!!
I agree, but I don't think there's an SEC team that would give us a good game. Florida? It'll be a blowout. I guess I'd want to see Florida only because we've never played them ever. Maybe Arkansas will be a decent game. Whoever it is, I'm glad it won't be a team from the Big East. Rutgers who?
praxis1301 11-20-2006, 02:17 PM i think michigan and ohio st. are two of the top teams, but they shouldn't rematch... there needs to be a new team to play them... i think usc and notre dame are over rated, but the winner of that game will probably be playin' them for the championship. however, i think that if arkansas wins out they should play ohio state. here i can step into a dissertation on why i think this, but that's beyond the scope of this site... but hey, who's going on road trips to what bowl games and taking their 8's?
Red Devil 11-20-2006, 02:54 PM Notre Dame won't get the nod over Michigan. USC will get the nod by their default dismantling of Arkansas early in the season. Florida seems to be the wild card, and they have more than enough talent to compete with Ohio State.
BlueRenesis82 11-20-2006, 05:13 PM uhh, are we talking about the same florida team? After Ohio State handled Michigan, nobody can hold a candle to them this year.
praxis1301 11-20-2006, 05:39 PM handled Michigan!? if they handled them, then Michigan wouldn't have scored that many times! for some reason ya'll yankees only look at offenses! The only thing that game showed was that those teams have amazing offenses, and said nothing for their defenses! if either defense was as amazing as the offenses, it would have been a lower scoring game.
moete87 11-20-2006, 05:54 PM When OSU plays Mich, all the stats are thrown out the window because, its such a fierce rivalry that anything goes! Look how good both defenses were this past season, both were basically the top team in every category. OSU lead the nation in least avg points allowed per game all season and Michigan had the #1 rush defense all year...and shit..what did the bucks do...they ran all over the mich defense.
Bottom line: I dont think there should be a rematch. Michigan had their chance and didnt win. So they should be done and out. Mich might be the best #2 team in the nation, but they had their chance...so they should of dropped in the rankings and give someone else a try to beat the Bucks (which we all know wont happen).
All I gotta say is GO BUCKS and bring on the next bitch!
ps. I am seriously thinking about taking a road trip out to AZ for the game!
BlueRenesis82 11-20-2006, 05:54 PM umm, its not like the game was 65-63.
In a meeting of 2 teams of that caliber, they are GOING to score a lot of points.
moete87 11-20-2006, 05:57 PM Also, one more thing.....
If OSU center didnt botch those 2 snaps and that deflection that caused the INT, OSU would of ran away with the game...you all know it! But those 3 stupid mistakes would of make a huge difference in the outcome. But im not complaining..Bucks won and thats all that matters! I dont care if its by 1 point or 45 points, a win is a win in my eyes! I know both defenses gave up alot of yards and points, but oh well. I enjoyed the game and I was going crazy!
RA-Eight 11-20-2006, 06:50 PM handled Michigan!? if they handled them, then Michigan wouldn't have scored that many times! for some reason ya'll yankees only look at offenses! The only thing that game showed was that those teams have amazing offenses, and said nothing for their defenses! if either defense was as amazing as the offenses, it would have been a lower scoring game.
1. OSU lead the nation in least avg points allowed per game all season
2. Michigan is the #1 rush defense all year
Big Ten football is all about defense.
alnielsen 11-20-2006, 09:08 PM OSU fans don't want a rematch because it is possible they could lose next time.
BlueRenesis82 11-20-2006, 09:57 PM yep
success07 11-20-2006, 10:27 PM OSU fans don't want a rematch because it is possible they could lose next time.
I think that is in the back of some folks mind for sure but for the most part they had their chance and didn't get the job done. The emotion for this game is so intense that it would do an injustice to both teams to have to do it again. Though a little teeny weenie part of me wants it only so that Mike Hart gets a forearm to the jaw for his disrespectful comments after the game. There is an unwriten rule that you don't and shouldn't trash the team that just beat you. It makes you look like an idiot especialy when you LOST the game.
The topic can and will be debated until Jan. 8. I believe that if you haven't won your conference title than you have no right being in the BCS title game. The BCS in general is a crappy system and everyone knows it.
Can you all imagine a six team playoff with first round byes? I think it would be great and then there would never be this drama. Skip the meaningless games at the beginning of the year when Div. 1A schools are playing St. Mary's School for the Deaf & Blind and had the playoff at the end of the year. The rest can go to bowl games like usual.
A nice scenerio might be that USC beats ND and then loses to UCLA. Allowing the SEC Champ to possibly slide into the title game. I think that it would be the most exciting of all the options.
RA-Eight 11-20-2006, 11:02 PM ^Nicely stated.
MI_FamilyMan 11-25-2006, 10:28 AM Looks like after Friday, we are down to only USC, Michigan or Florida to be Ohio State's opponent in the Championship game. I think Florida will lose either to FSU or in the SEC title game though.
I'm not sure if ND can pull off the upset, but it may leave Michigan as the only worthy one-loss team. I haven't decided if I want that to happen yet or not. I do know it would be a great game to watch, and I would predict that there would be A LOT fewer points scored the second time around.
I wonder why WVU is not being talked about at all, I guess they're too low in the BCS standings? They were media darlings up until the Louisville game. Only one loss still, and likely to stay that way.....
RA-Eight 11-25-2006, 10:50 AM I wonder why WVU is not being talked about at all, I guess they're too low in the BCS standings? They were media darlings up until the Louisville game. Only one loss still, and likely to stay that way.....
You have to come out undefeated if you're in the Big East. At least that's how the voters are looking at it.
MI_FamilyMan 11-25-2006, 10:53 AM I don't disagree. I was dreading Big East in the Championship Game until they all conveniently got knocked off one by one.
Glad to see the Big 12 is out of the picture as well...
RA-Eight 11-25-2006, 04:52 PM Plus WVU just lost to S. Florida. Who? :dunno:
moete87 11-25-2006, 07:56 PM And FLA looked like shit today!
RA-Eight 11-25-2006, 10:17 PM Sorry to say it guys, but the national championship game looks like it's gonna be a :boring: one.
moete87 11-25-2006, 10:20 PM I agree!
MI_FamilyMan 11-26-2006, 03:54 PM Looks like the media has already forgotten about the OSU-UM game and is jumping on the USC bandwagon! I hope UCLA shows up and brings USC back down to earth.
All this talk about Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl with Michigan is driving me crazy too. Why would anyone condone this "rematch" over a OSU-UM rematch? Notre Dame doesn't belong in the BCS to begin with and pitting them against Michigan again would be pointless!
I would rather see UM play Louisville or one of the SEC teams.
RA-Eight 11-26-2006, 09:17 PM I'd like to see UM woop on the SEC champs. Louisville would be too easy. Big Ten statement.
MI_FamilyMan 11-29-2006, 12:28 PM On local Detroit sports radio, I caught a portion of a conversation where it sounded like the Rose Bowl might not take Michigan because their fans "don't travel well", and that the Orange Bowl might instead be interested in Michigan.
If that scenario held true, it would be UM vs. Wake Forest (ugh!) in the Orange. What an ugly game that would be. The ACC really blows this year if WF is their champion...
They should really try to get a true 3 vs. 4 match-up in one of the other major bowls. Unfair to the others, but it's what the fans want.
praxis1301 01-09-2007, 11:11 AM 1. OSU lead the nation in least avg points allowed per game all season
2. Michigan is the #1 rush defense all year
Big Ten football is all about defense.
Sorry to gloat... but as you were saying?
RA-Eight 01-10-2007, 04:43 PM Sorry to gloat... but as you were saying?
1. OSU fell to #5 in ppg behind V.Tech, Wisc, TCU, and LSU. Fla is #6. But Wisconsin still represented the Big Ten with the #2 spot.
2. Michigan is still #1 against the run.
3. Wisconsin is #1 for passing efficiency defense, and #2 against the pass
I'll state it again since you asked, Big Ten Football is all about defense.
