I parked my RX-8 for more than 1 month,I think my battery got discharged. I used a jumper cable,cranked it it didn't work. What should I do next? Please help me...

there is a deflooding procedure - i forgot how it went so wont attempt to give it to you but im sure someone will in 2 secs - try it and gl

maybe your engine flooded, do a search of the keyword flood on this forum.
or maybe you just need it jumped hehe

the offical deflood should be

step on the gas pedal and start your engine, by doing this it cuts fuel delivery to your engine, and the starter will push the fuel out to your cat (Its going to kill your cat, but who cares, start it first)

Crank it for about 8-10 seconds. Its going to drain your battery like hell. After that, turn it off and let it sit for a couple of minutes, cuz sometimes your spark plugs might be *wet* so just wait a couple of minutes. then start again normally (DONT STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL)

If it starts, drive it for maybe a couple hundred miles, then bring it to your dealer ship said that you car flooded before and tell them to check the CAT for damage. they CANNOT refuse such repair, because its required by Mazda.

But I suggest you to do the push start method. which would do almost no harm to cats. and you will be able to start within a few feet (if u're lucky)

but make sure you're flooded before you attempt any of the above.

How will I know if its was flooded or not? battery was drained too thats why I ask.

ohh actually this answers my question from way back when i first heard of flooding .. why not just push the car and it in gear from a roll. i've done that so many times as kid by myself with smaller cars that im sure i could do it with the 8 .. anyways myself or with help .. this sounds like a good way to get it going without getting towed and the causign the cat problem

But my car is an A/T? can't push start it.

I had to repeat the process four times before my car actually came on... I gave it about 2-5 min break in between each time.

I called the damn service department at mazda and they said to have the car towed... The guy acted like he didnt even know what I was talking about.

Anyway, after ur car has *floodeD* u should visit ur dealership to let them *check* the cat.
