I did a search, but got tired of looking to see if this happened to anyone else after about the 4th page.

I turned on my car this morning and immediatley saw the TPMS light on, so I got out and did a little walk around to make sure I didn't have any flats. Which thank god, I didn't. I didn't have a gauge to see which tire was low, so I decided to just drive to work and check it there. Halfway to work, about 6-7 minutes into the drive, I look down and see the light wasn't on anymore. I got to work and checked each tire, and all were fine.

This is my first car that has TPMS. Is this a characteristic of it? Or has this happened to anyone else?

Yes it is a charateristic of the tpms but just to be on the safe side check your tires. This happen to me and guess what? I had 1 screw and 1 screw with washer in the front driver tire and in the back driver tire. It was time for new wheels and tires.

that is because when you first start your car, the tires are cold, and after a couple mins drives, it warmed the tires so the air pressure went up, then the light will turn off!
but i suggest you still check on the tire pressure, cause it happened to me before! and when i checked the tires pressure, one of the tire had only 20psi.

one tire is low.... when you drive the tires heat up it causes the pressure to increase in the tire... light went out...

you still have a low tire..

It's that time of year when cold tmpertures drop the air in your tires.

Buddy of mine who used to work for a dealership said that the TPMS sensor will trip when it drops below 29 PSI and over 40 PSI.

Odds when you tires were cold it was about 27 - 28, after they heated up about 30 - 32. I try to keep a happy medium around 34.
