San Diego - Palomar Mountain Run

It's time for a mountain run!

Date: 10/18/2008

Time: Meet by 3PM, head out by 3:15

Place: 1138 West Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA

The drive will start in the Circuit City parking lot (same place the SD crew met for the Sevenstock caravan), head up the 15, east out the 76, and then up through the awesome twisties on S Grade Rd. We'll head back down the other side of the mountain, past Lake Henshaw and wind up in Poway for an early after-drive dinner for those interested.

The drive will be very spirited, but safe. Please come to have a good time but leave your speed demon egos at home. The drive is open to all cars as long as the drivers are cool and don't do something stupid to get the rest of us in trouble.

If you plan to attend, please add your name to the list below. We will wait a few extra minutes for confirmed drivers in the event you're running late, but we will not wait for you if your name isn't on the list!

Sun's gonna go down around 6:15. I imagine we can do all that in 3 hours, but I'm just saying...

LionZoo 10-01-2008 05:31 PM

I don't think it's a good idea to post both your route and departure time.

Good point. I did take it into consideration. The last time I ran this drive it took just over 2 hours and that included putting on a spare an limping home due to a fist-sized rock that, I swear, jumped out of nowhere and attached my right-rear wheel :p: I figured by the time it started getting low light we'd be eating dinner in Poway.

I'm not that paranoid... :)

BAM0027 10-01-2008 05:53 PM

Depending on how many attend, there could be the "cat herding" syndrome. Regardless, I'm game. I can just drive nine tenths at dusk.

rXter 10-01-2008 07:36 PM

I might join. I have not done anything with you folks previously but I've met some great people through my other car's group.

I don't see any pics attached to the related threads below. Can anyone direct me to pics of previous runs?

Thanks

You do enough of these events, you will be. Be especially careful on Palomar, but you know that already.

Sweet so theyre will be atleast 5 of us. Yea my camera sucks so you don't want me taking the pictures.

RotorMotor 10-09-2008 10:46 AM

A buddy of mine will be coming in his R32, so make that 5 1/2 (piston pushers don't count for much). :smileysho

ztbear13 10-09-2008 08:02 PM

Yea but R32's are pretty sick cars... I've always liked them even though I'm personally not a huge fan of awd cars...

A.A. 10-15-2008 02:39 AM
