Also for the Power Steering they are saying needs a new rack and that is said to be a $1600 part.
Sorry to hear about this...hope you get it fixed soon..

Personally I'd get the 370z if I were to get another sports car.

Have you considered a BMW M series?
Built WAY better, stronger, last longer, easier to work on, hold value better, etc etc.

Well if you compare the genesis to the z with the fact that there is no head room in the genesis but the z has no back that is a moot point. What about performance?

not too sure about the z, but i do know that they built that car to out perform
the rx8. which to me is saying a lot.
i mentioned the headroom in the genisis as a warning, just in case you were leaning
towards that because they do have rear seats

Drove the Lexus IS 250, very nice automatic only but it has paddle shifters. Price is a little high. Sat in a Kia Optima and didn't really like the look out the window but it was nice. Test drove a 370z, definitely the feel I am looking for but compared to the 8 the interior is definitely a downgrade. Would have to upgrade the stereo and speakers as I think that will be a better option then getting a touring model. Want to test drive a A5 but I think that will be too much $$ as well. Anyone know what insurance is like on a Z?

it cant be too much higher then the 8, they already consider the 8 a sports car.
granted an older model now, but i could not convince my insur. company that it was
a four door sedan..

My insurance company called my RX8 a 1.3l 2cyl 4 door car. My insurance was cheaper than if I drove a Toyota Corolla.
My friend bought a 350Z at the same time I had my RX8, his insurance (with a perfect driving record) was almost triple what I paid.

Well, Farmers is $1284 for the year for my RX8 and if I got the Z it would be $1740 ($38 more per month). With AAA they quoted me below $1500 for the year. So I may want to switch coverage.

I think for the price and for what I want in the car I am going to get the Z, I already talked to Keith about helping me put my car back stock. I figure I will give you guys and or any friends first dibs on the parts.

I haven't decided on the Volks since they may fit the Z (just not staggered) but if I get a good price for them, sure.

So tell me what is the fascination with BR-Z/ FR-S? Yeah they have a good engine and their styling is pretty good (the interior needs some help). They are low on HP, small in size cheap so it draws some of the Honda crowd. I would say they are nice but compared to the 8 they are a step below. I hear they are balanced well. Now if there is a STI version maybe some slight aggressive styling that would be nice.

Sorry work has been crazy and the holiday and decorations. And trying to sell the parts. The Z is sweet, very firm suspension more then the 8. It pulls in all gears. Corners great. It is weird not hearing the rotary engine. The car in general feels bigger but it is quite a bit shorter not sure about the width. Tires are also much bigger but I haven't noticed that yet. I will try to take some pictures this Sunday. The second day driving it a semi truck tire blew out in front of me on the freeway. On and the big brakes really stop!

As for the regulars: Vipers has come full circle back to a FC. FastRX8 is selling his. Mine is for sale. Kwescott, Snowfl8k, Rglbegl and Speedemon32 have all sold theirs. Only guys who still have their is Detrich (who never drives it), Jedi54 (well you know) and screamn8 who has it stalled up? Sounds depressing.

By the way how was SS? I didn't get to talk to Cesar much about it yet.

ya, just a few off us still carrying the torch
oh, and Spiceboy has resurfaced suddenly so hes back in the mix. We should do a run in the early spring to see if your 'lil Z can keep up with me in the twisties.

SS15 was probably the best SS we've ever done. Location / setup was amazing, weather was perfect, attendance was awesome and we had 4 epic 4 rotors who for the first time in Mazdas history were all at the same place at the same time. (and ripping up the track)
